The probability that you will be a victim of crime depends on the crime rate, which illegal immigrants lower
Okay good, so you've given up your argument that FBI obviously gives a shit about total crime stats.

As far illegals bringing down the crime RATE, I think thats very difficult to prove since nobody in government knows exactly how many illegals there are in US (or even Canada for that matter). Liberals say its "only" 11 million, Conservatives say its around 30 million. The true number is probably somewhere in the middle:

http://www.hngn.com/articles/121099...grants-live-u-s-mexicos-former-ambassador.htm

Like the real U.S. unemployment rate, the actual number of illegal immigrants in the country is somewhat of a mystery, but the federal government estimated in 2012 that the number is close to 11.4 million. Many conservatives and immigration watchdog groups contend that the actual number is closer to 30 million, Breitbart noted.

A group of former Border Patrol agents penned an open letter in 2013 claiming that the number of illegals in the U.S. is around 18-20 million, and a 2005 Bear Stearns report estimated that the number could be as high as 20 million, reported The Washington Times

Being an undocumented/illegal immigrant IS NOT a crime. Crossing the border illegally is, but quite a lot of illegal immigrants crossed the border legally. They claimed to be tourists or students and then just never left.
That is a crime, as is entering the US illegally which millions have done. The "undocumented" terminology is classic newspeak.

I think what fuji means is overstaying your VISA is not a crime (which is true).

But it is against the law. Civil law to be exact.
So they're still breaking the law, no matter which way fuji tries to spin it

Even if they did decrease the crime rate like you say, do you support an open borders policy?
Notice how fuji never directly answered this question.

It requires a simple answer, fuji.
Do you support an open borders policy?? Yes or no???

Sorry but you are just flat out wrong. It isn't a crime. It is an immigration violation, and clearly illegal, but it violates no criminal law. On the other hand, illegally crossing the border DOES.

The only thing anybody gives a shit about is the crime rate. The FBI collects the total stat so they can divide by population and calculate the crime rate.

And we've had lots of threads with data showing that all immigrants, including illegal immigrants, commit fewer crimes than native born Americans do.

I support the current border policy which is not an open border policy. I don't support some boondoggle expansion of the border controls that will eat up lots of my taxes and return no benefit at all.

I've stated clearly how to solve this problem: Make it a felony to knowingly hire an illegal worker. That will end the problem in a heartbeat.

So, now it's your turn -- do you support criminalizing those in the United States who are responsible for all the illegal immigration, namely, those who employ them?

Wrong, they also care about crime stats in total

And I've pointed out to you those stats are meaningless since nobody knows exactly how many illegal immigrants there are in the US

I've answered this 3 or 4 times already. I'm okay with charging employers with felonies for hiring illegals, but I would go with very stiff monetary penalties first, because thats much more of a deterrent.

For example if a large company makes a net profit of $100 million annually, you fine them somewhere between 50 to 90 million. That'll make them stop real quick.

Putting CEO's in jail should be a last resort because jailing people costs the State money

Keep up this claim. It makes you look LUDICROUS. Illegal immigrants lower the crime rate, meaning that their presence REDUCES your odds of being a victim of crime.

It doesn't matter how many there are. They lower the crime rate. If there are even more if them, that just lower it even more.

Repeating this claim ad nauseam isnt helping your argument any, fuji

No, because they dont have the stats for the extra 20 million or so they left out of their equation. Just because someone is an illegal immigrant doesnt mean they automatically become a supersaint and stop breaking the law

Lets apply fuji's logic.

If every Mexican criminal, drug smuggler and drug lord suddenly moved to the US they would stop being a criminal because fuji's stats says they would

Fact: lowering the crime rate makes you less likely to be a victim of crime

Fact: illegal immigrants lower the crime rate

If they left out an extra 20 million illegal immigrants from the denominator then they lower the crime rate EVEN MORE.

Impossible to say for sure unless you have complete data on the extra 20 million.

FACT: math, you're doing it wrong again

Again you fail at fractions.

If you add 20 million to the denominator, the fraction gets smaller. Sheesh.

No, because you're assuming the 20 million illegals are of equal good character as the first 11 million or so you did the stats on.

You suck at statistics

The statistic was arrived at by counting the illegals in prison and dividing by the estimated population of illegals. If you add 20 million to the divisor the rate only gets lower.
