Is This A Good Deal ?

Just saw this ad in the Staples flyer :

COMPAG PRESSARIO 17" LAPTOP INTEL CORE 2 DUO pROCESSOR T5800 FOR $698.00

I've compared this with other Core 2Duo laptops(even with smaller screens) and found this is the lowest price, is that a good deal or are there some negatgives about this machine that make it so cheap ? Is it that much better to have Core 2 Duo than Duo Core ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I've got an HP laptop...good machine. No complaints. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Take the Ad to Future Shop and ask if they can offer a better deal.

I believe a Core 2 Duo is basically a Intel Centrino chip, which is faster and runs cooler.

I'm in the market for one with a Centrino chip, problem is there are so many out there with AMD chips.
