I'm not so sure about that.The longer he stays in power, the more damage he does to the conservative brand.
Ford's problems are very specific to what we might describe as character flaws.
It's not his conservative agenda that's creating the problems. It's his own unique approach to governing. I'm not convinced the impact on Ford's brand extends much beyond the mayor.
For example, John Tory is a conservative (sort of) and there are plenty of people in Toronto who would like to see Tory run for mayor.
