Dear samaritano,
"petty anti-american sentiment"
I doubt you have to worry about your ass walking down any street in toronto. Bet you wouldn't feel the same way in oooohhh say half the places in the rest of the world would you.
He he.
You mistake our Canadian / British sense of superiority for anti american sentiment.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
We love americans, especially when you come here and spend your money.
We mainly live in Toronto and this is a better city in which to live than any american city (I have been to most) so we naturally feel superior.
We find american musings the american way is the only way quite old. We are also quite bored with your gov't taxing our soft wood exports because our gov't doesn't levy enought taxes on our lumber barons. We are also quite bored having americans boo our national anthem at hockey games (we will of course only respond by cheering yours in order to demonstrate proper sportsmanship).
We find it quite hysterical that your president demonstrats his intelligence by calling our prime minister "Jean Poutine" on national television, a bit which has no doubt been played about a million times here, each time garnering more laughs than the last, or the bit when the governer of Iowa (correct me if i am wrong) congratulated canada on finally moving to the 24 hour clock. It just gets better and better doesn't it.
But i do agree with you on one point, the guy should use canadian money period. There are instant tellers in every store / gas station, and banks on every other corner.
God bless america
