...

Yeah, the case of the colonizers who continue to be irredeemable colonizers.
You mean like you?

Canada's indigenous are still being persecuted and still having governments taking their land. You just don't want to admit you are a settler here as part of the colonial infrastructure, not as a guest or ally of Canada's indigenous people.

No I mean like the Jews who colonized and settled in Palestine without a passport or a visa.
You keep returning to this idiocy.

Did anyone in the ottoman empire have passports in the 1880-1920 period. Jews travelled there under Ottoman requirements and bought land legally under Ottoman law. Nowhere have I seen any examples of Jews 'stealing' land before partition. The closest you can come is Wealthy Arab landowners taking advantage of Ottoman land reforms which could have allowed tenant farmers to become land owners and later selling that land out from under them.

As for you, you are simply a tool of the colonial entity of Canada needing immigration to perpetuate our colonial system. I'm part of that settler system as well but unlike you, I didn't choose to come here and be part of it. But your shit don't stink so you're happy to ignore your participation in the continued persecution of Canada's indigenous, just like you were happy to ignore Modi sending assassins to kill Canadians for wanting a Sikh state.

Canada's immigration levels since 2000. These are landed immigrant numbers. Doesn't include those on study or work permits or refugees.

Why the fuck are we allowing so many people through the door the past couple of years? A 66% increase from the 5 year average of 2016-2020. This isn't sustainable or in our best interests as a country. It is simply done for one reason - to bring in future votes for the Liberal Party. Fuck you Trudeau.

I`ve heard Eric Kam, economics prof. Ryerson/TMU say that "Using immigration as your only growth strategy will end in disaster". Looks like he`s correct.

Bringing in swathes of immigrants helped with winning votes
for the more pro-immigration party. It is not just newcomers.
Extended families of newcomers are more inclined to vote for
Trudeau and the Liberals out of gratitude as well.

Below is a quote from the 2018-19 ABC TV series The Kids Are Alright. The show was a 'family comedy', set in 1972. The family was watching the draft lottery on television, with one of the sons being potentially drafted for the Viet Nam war. The father said:

"No son of mine is going to Canada. That place accepts every low-life and coward. The whole country is un-American.".

In 1967, Canada implemented a new immigration points system, which evaluated applicants in categories including education and employment prospects. When that brought more arrivals from the Caribbean and Asia the following year, The Globe wrote: “The diversification they bring to Canada is an exciting and a maturing influence.”
The Canada Pension Plan was introduced in 1965, the same year that the 'Baby Boom' ended.

Anyone who was already part of the work force received CPP credited years for all pre-1965 employment.

Like every pyramid scheme, the bottom pays for the top. For those currently in the workforce, your CPP deductions from employment earnings are paying the pensions for people who have already retired. When you retire, younger people who are still working will pay for you.

Chart of Life Expectancy in Canada, from 1950

In 1965, the life expectancy in Canada was 71.66 years, and retirement before age 65 was rare. At 2024, the age has increased to 83.11 years, (+11.5 years). Essentially Canadians now live three times as long after age 65 than they did in 1965.

My father made out like a bandit in this system. He was born in 1923, and worked for the same company from 1948 - 1985, retiring at age 62. He had no contributions to CPP for the first 17 years of his career, and minimal contributions for most of the next ten years. There was rampant inflation in the mid to late 1970's, and both wages and CPP contributions increased significantly. He received almost twenty years of maximum CPP, but paid almost nothing for the first 2/3 of his career.

'Diversity' is a weasel word used to describe any ethic group which has an above-average birth rate. If White women had continued to pop out kids at Baby Boom rates, there would have been a lot fewer immigrants to Canada since 1967.

It really is that simple.

btw, my business background was in pension plan administration and actuarial math, primarily working with plans for the Teamsters Union, so I know exactly how these things work, and the variables which affect funding of benefit plans.

The Canadian Debt Clock

Right now, Canadian Government debt is more than $41,000 per Canadian. One might argue that increasing immigration numbers decreases Government debt, if 'per capita' basis is the criterion used.

Enjoy what you can of Canada now. That is complete fucking lunacy. Picture 40 million in the GTA, using the same roads of today, healthcare will be by lottery and a Trudeau grandkid will be crowned King Nothing, despot for life.

So when I read that we have a lower per capita GDP than Mississippi, the poorest by far State and Texas has a much larger economy than Canada despite 10M fewer people, that`s not so good... right? How about finishing last in the OECD projection for growth `til 2060, that`s really not good. You probably have a few more good ones.

To catch you up on recent events, the CPP switched from pay as you go to a funded reserve approach in the 1990's.

No, Kirky. Let's do this together - once again.

New immigrants can't vote. They are allowed to vote when they become citizens, which takes several years. At that point, they can - and do - vote for any of the political parties.

Please try and do better than just spurking out variants of "The Great Replacement Theory". Because it's far right bullshit scare propaganda.

We have high levels of immigration because the low birth rate and low death rate of the existing population means that it has to be subsidized more and more by immigrant newcomers. If PeePoo becomes PM, he will have the same immigration rates as Justin because it's economically mandated. (And the Sun newspaper will suddenly stop complaining about immigration rates until the Libs win another election - at which time, immigration will immediately again become a "crisis").

You've been told this a number of times.
