Maybe it's just me, but the stats used in this article don't seem to show frugality as attractive. Only 26% of people said they would view coupon-using positively. The other stat of 73% only shows that people would be willing to go on another date with someone who does so, not that they view it favourably.

Holding out for, and then getting, a great price on your porche and summer cottage is seen as attractive.

Saving money by taking your date to McDonalds. Not so much.

A woman can find frugality a plus, it shows the ability to plan ahead and provide for the couple or family. I buy things that are on special in order to save as well as for the convenience of having the things I want when i want it. Just this week I bought 48 AAA and 48 AA alkaline batteries at Costco for $10 each pack. It is an amazing deal when you consider that if you bought 4 AAA batteries at Shoppers Drugmart it would cost you $8. I buy things that are on special for later use, sometimes I even drop by several stores during the week to buy the same item that is on special because they limit the quantity. Sometimes there are things at Canadian Tire that is 80% off, I may buy the item for future use even if I do not have a need for it now. With labor for repair at $80-$90 an hour, I have tools that have paid for themselves 20 times over.

Frugality is a quality in a person, cheapness is an embarrassment.

No, it's not.

Women aren't going to be attracted to someone that is going to put them on a path of scrimping and saving.

What usually happens is that they fall in love with men (not wealthy) for other reasons, and then the couple later works on their finances. THEN, the scrimping and saving is part of working towards their dreams.

At first cut, you're not going to attract anyone by being a saver.

BUT ... if you stick with it, and save enough to BECOME wealthy, THEN you start attracting the ladies.

It is.I'm frugal. If you save money...and then give some of that money in the form of a gift to a lady it means more....sacrifice, thoughtfulness, commitment and discipline beats"Hey baby.... I'm loaded..here go buy yourself some nice shit, plenty more where that came from!!".Don't get me wrong....there are some women who love that but from experience they are usually soulless crotch rotters with the social mindset of a serial killer.

Why would anyone need 98 batteries? They will probably go dead before you use them.Thats a waste not a savings.

I think the frugal man appeals to a certain kind of woman (and maybe not even a majority of womankind). She would be intelligent (top 25% percentile), able to earn her own keep, emotionally stable and mature, and also fiscally responsible.

Frugality and sensible shoes are the first thing I look for in an SP. The ability to suck a mean cock is a close second.

I bought six rechargeable batteries and a charger in 1992, and I'm still using them.

Costco is such a scam, they make you buy things in quantity you never need and you still think you saved money while spending more on things you dont need. Its bad for your health and environment too if you consume too much food.

Costco is just like everywhere else. If you know what you're looking for, and what the cost is, you can save money there. For example, the cereal I eat is a shade cheaper by weight at Costco, so I buy it there. They aren't cheaper on everything, and the sizes can confuse/amaze those who aren't as attentive. But the hot dogs are a steal. Me and the GF go there for brunch on sundays, then tour the store for desert samples and grab a few of the things that make sense buying there.

I view frugality as being selfish. I have never met a woman who, with being frugal, wasnt also selfish about spending her money on anyone but herself.

Definition :

fru·gal
/ˈfro͞ogəl/
Adjective

Sparing or economical with regard to money or food.
Simple and plain and costing little: "a frugal meal".

Synonyms
thrifty - economical - sparing - parsimonious - saving

Being frugal does not necessarily mean stingy, cheap, or selfish. A person may be stingy and selfish, but this is not necessarily so with all frugal people. A woman that wants you to spend, spend, spend, will only be with you as long as you have the money to spend. A woman that admires a man because he is smart with his money can see a man that she can be with and know that he can take care of himself, her and a family.

I will agree with you that not everything at Costco is at a good price. There are some things like batteries that are a steal if you stock, up you are good for years. I bought a 2KG slab of smoked meat ( pastrami ) at a good price that was a big hit at my BBQ.

Costco is not about cheap. It's about good value. Good quality at a good price. The meat is usually high quality.

Cheap girls are not hot, but ones who are good with money are hawt!

Not if you give some out to family members.

I bought six rechargeable batteries and a charger in 1992, and I'm still using them.
Costco has rechargeable as well. If you are good at recharging the batteries at the appropriate time, them rechargeable are good.
I find regular alkaline batteries much more convenient.

I'm guessing they weren't Duracell or Energizer.
They were the Costco house, Kirkland brand. You can pay more and get bulk packs of name brand batteries at Costco, but you pay more and get less. I figure that Costco has a reputation to uphold and will not buy dollar store crap batteries.

96 batteries actually...
maybe he has a kid with lots of battery powered toys? wtf dude? stop trolling
No, no kids.

WTF dude, stop being such a bulgy eyed, shivering, yapping, chihuahua.

Non-rechargebale battery good for short term

I bought six rechargeable batteries and a charger in 1992, and I'm still using them.
I'm not sure how long a name brand battery lasts, but let's assume it's 2 years and more and the economy goes into a tailspin and into worse-than-1930s Depression conditions (hydro is down, martial law, etc), non-chargeable batteries will be a godsend. Those with chargeable batteries will have no power when their batteries run out.

BTW, the earlier scenario is nothing to sneeze at. Very much a possibility. That's why a small proportion of the North American population is buying up stuff that can help them survive the worse possible scenarios for our economy. I know I've gone off on a tangent somewhat, but buy non-chargeable batteries have an important place in doomsday situations which are not farfetched (witness Syria!).
