Pizza is common in Toronto, I don't like that I've never had black pudding in my home town.

So where to go to get an Irish breakfast?

That's English breakfast.

IRISH breakfast is a potato and a pint of Irish whiskey.

I make my own. Irish breakfast typically does not include baked beans. And being from the north they must include tattie farls (potato bread)

To paraphrase crocodile Dundee. That's not an Irish breakfast mate. Looks a pretty insipid American imitation. I had an Irish breakfast in Cork once. wasn't bad. But the full English used to include large mushrooms, kidneys, black pudding and fried bread. Served in an English boarding house, it would kind of bloat you out for the full day.

Just noticed that IV mentioned black pudding.

Black pudding is beef blood mixed with - I think - bread crumbs and spices and fried. Holy shit, is it good!

My old mom looks for it. Much of the stuff you find it TO is heavily spiced and made to Italian recipe and a little too exotic for my UK taste.

I would pass on the canned baked beans, but add fried bread. Exactly what it sounds like. Bread slice fried to a crisp in bacon fat! Add in a cuppa with a lot of milk that's been stewing in the teapot for at least 20 minutes and is strong enough to unclock a drain! Memories of growing up as a little kid!

The best line of all on this topic came from Scouser, when he said that he never understood why all the "blokes" from his home town (Liverpool) hadn't passed away from coronaries before the age of 35!

Tattie is slang for potato in Scottish. Irish breakfasts and Scottish breakfasts are nearly identical.
As you likely know the North of Ireland had many Scottish settlers so yes you are correct.

Love neeps and tatties! (neeps are turnips).

Love an Irish breakfast with black pudding, bangers, and bacon. And yes, you need mushrooms!
Yes my family always fried up mushrooms and tomatoes as part of the breakfast. Every Christmas morning was traditional Irish breakfast for as long as I can recall.

Wait, there's Italian black pudding here and I haven't found it? The Brits must not use marjoram in their black pudding.

Isolation sucks reeally bad, even Canosa is closed! And the social critic had the temerity to tell me to get a fucking life...wait till the next Kelly Young video is uploaded. I need something different, I'm tired of cooking and freezing.

Yes I am Scottish so had the history drummed into me from very young including "the move". Tatties were a staple in my house along with meat bridies (gross) and oatcakes etc. The only thing I like less than a Scottish (Irish) breakfast is a ploughman's lunch.

Guess you're not much of a fan of haggis then

I force it down every 25th of January. Damn stuff needs an exorcism not a blessing.
So I guess I'm not inviting you for a curatele dinner then? It's like haggis without the sheep's stomach, with scrambled eggs instead of oats. Both are delicious!

Here's the first item I eat when I'm in Florence.

What's happening in Italy is breaking my heart.

I was supposed to go to Torino next weekend to attend my first match at Juventus Stadium. So much for that and I probably wont get my money back on reserved seating. Never been to Torino, apart from cars, machinery and football, it's the chocolate capital of the country. If you go to a coffeehouse there and ask for a cafe (never espresso, they'll know you're a tourist) they give it to you with a nub of chocolate.

Notice the chocolate on the side.
