Love my new ipod 40 gig. 2 challenges I am trying to overcome.

1) Importing songs from Real Player - I have only been able to transfer about 800 of 1250 songs. I am having trouble transferring most of the Internet downloaded songs, Kazaa etc. Anyone know of a reason/solution?

2) I bought the Monster Cable (RCA jacks) for Stereo hook up the red connection fits but the blue connection is too small for my Receiver, e.g. doesn't fit. Perhaps my receiver is dated - 6-7 years old?

I appreciate any help/direction on these issues.

1 - use iTunes.
2 - you can buy an adaptor at most radio shacks to plug the monster cable into and then into your stereo. http://www.radioshack.com/category.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F011%5F003%5F001%5F001&Page=1
it all depends on which connector you do need.

You have to pay for iTunes, no? I don't think he wants to spend that much cash to get the same songs...

iTunes comes with your iPod so it's free. You can still download all the songs (or steal as some would say) you want with other programs but upload them with iTunes.

They are pretty much the same price everywhere you go. You can go Big Box (Best Buy as an example), but I prefer the smaller shops.....Carbon Computing, Computer Systems Centre ($$$). Just about anywhere now.

But how do I upload cd's onto my computer? Which program do I use?

Itunes will upload the CD into its library.
Put the CD in the CD drive. Start iTunes or select iTunes if you get a menu. If another program starts cancel it and use iTunes.

Then, when you plug the iPod into the computer it will download everything in the library into the iPod.

Your Welcome...

I should have mentioned that you'll need to click the Import button in the upper right corner if it doesn't start importing the music automatically.

iTunes.

On a Mac, iTunes will rip the CD for you, and it will even burn a CD if you want it to.
iTunes will do this Windows XP or 2000 too.

Apple said they were finally going to launch their online music store in Canada in November. I just checked and it still isn't there yet.
