Maybe you should optimise your apps for the new iOS? I mean, you make your money on the platform, shouldn't you keep up to date on it and not cause your customers grief?

shouldn't Apple make sure OS update be backward compatible? Have you ever had windows program crashing because you upgraded from xp to win7 then win8? The interface might look old and outdated but shouldn't crash without warning!

They should but obviously they didn't bother.

More good news! In attempt to upgrade my app, I downloaded Xcode5 to replace my XCode4 (it's a programming tool for those don't know). This upgrade gave my MBP a black screen. It took me almost a day to fix, it seems to be a common problem after researching on Google. This would NEVER happen with Microsoft Visual studio. Programming on Apple products is absolutely rubbish!!

The issue is that your apps are not optimised for the new OS. That's not Apple's fault. You decided to develop for their OS so it is up to you to keep up-to-date.

it IS their fault for not being backward compatible which is a standard practice for all major OS makers. For example, Winzip I downloaded in 1998 for my windows NT still works on windows 7 and presumebly 8.

New IOS on both computers and iPhone with no real problems. Just getting use to the new tweaks and new offerings with no problems. i guess the squeaky wheel gets the headlines.

Wow. Why is it grown human beings can't seem to discuss what should be an innocuous topic like this without resorting to extreme views and language?

iOS 7 was a major change to the OS, so of course there are going to be some problems with existing apps. I doubt every new Android release is bug-free either. My app started crashing more, and no it's not because I'm a shitty developer, it's because things changed a bit between iOS 6 and iOS 7.

But I also didn't complain and rage about it, I fixed it, because these things are a fact of life as a software developer.

Why don't you tell us which app you developed. So since your a app developer you must go to the WWDC every June??????? Out of the 60 plus apps I have on my iPhone I can see only one app was an issue in my issue report and that was short lived So again can you share which app you developed maybe we can increase your app standing in the App Store and write good reviews on your app in the App Store. Or we can call you out on your BS

I hope you'll forgive me not being keen giving personal details like which specific apps I develop on a forum of this nature. I suspect very few people on this board would be comfortable discussing their vocations in anything but the most general sense.

As for WWDC, yes I've attended in the past. In the last couple years it's become very difficult to get a ticket though (this year it sold out in a minute or two) so I haven't been. It's also not as useful as it once was from an education standpoint since they make available all the talks shortly after the conference or in the case of this year I believe they were coming online during the event. It is a great event for networking though (i.e. meeting people) if you're into that sort of thing. Though come to think of it I'm not really sure what my WWDC attendance has to do with me being an app developer. There are far far more app developers that have *not* been to WWDC than those that have I'd be willing to wager.

I'm not sure what you're getting at about your 60 apps. Most apps survived the transition to iOS 7 just fine, even if they didn't make any iOS 7 fixes. They might look a bit out of place now but for the most part the iOS 6 SDK works fine on iOS 7. There were a few hiccups in my case and a few bugs that had to be fixed. Nothing catastrophic though.

As for BS, I'm not sure what part of my post was so controversial that it would cause you to think I'm BS'ing you, maybe you could explain why exactly it is that you think I'm lying about?

Exactly. If his programming skills are anything like his postings, no surprise his "apps" constantly crash.

I've been running iOS 7 final since day one of its launch. Zero crashes.
