Of course it's not accurate. The date to celebrate his birth was decided at the council of Nicae in 325AD. Not only that but now biblical historians are saying that his birth is off by 4 calendar years, so that would make it really 2016 now.
Surprisingly not everything in early christianity was decided at the first counsel of Nicea. I am pretty sure the Dec 25 date was not decided then either, nor was the Christian or Catholic canon.

They did some important shit, but not this stuff.

Sometime in the early to mid fourth century in the West. I believe Petzel is becoming confused due to the fact that the First Council of Nicæa was at around the same time in 325 A.D.

Why don't we Canadians have a Declaration of Independence which states that all men are created equal with the unalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Where is our government of the people, by the people and for the people?
