That's the plan, I don't want to rely on drugs to sleep but I will take them if I have to. like I said drug induced sleep is better then no sleep at all. and the side effects for this drug are quite tame compared to other anti depressant and anti anxiety drugs in the past which had horrible side effects including sexual. Before I took the medication my blood pressure was 142/96 my 60+ year old mother scored better then I did. Today is it only 118/78

Reading before sleep works great for me.
An hour before bed no electronics or any blue light. Grab a book and read is one of the beat things you can do.

I agree that reading is helpful. I used to suffer from insomnia. I couldn't sleep well and often woke up during the night. My doctor prescribed me pills, but according to the Canadian pharmacy site, they can be taken only for a short period of time. That's why I decided to try natural ways. I should say, sports and yoga work for me. Also, I changed my daily routine. Now I go to bed at 10:30 pm and wake up at 6:30 am every day, even on weekends.

Technology has deprived us of a cheap sleeping tool.

Cheech - Hey man, watcha doin
Chong - I'm watching a movie but it's really boring.
Cheech - Hey man, that's not a movie it's a test pattern.

When I can't sleep, I set the screen to a timer and turn on The Aquarium Channel.

I'm the opposite. An hour or so of scrolling through Tik Tok clips on my tablet while in bed gets me ready for "lights out" at around 12:45 am, with no problem falling asleep.

4 finger whiskey or cognac.

I find the best remedy is cognac with equal amount of tap water.
Suspect this is psychological vs. physiological, though the water part probably can't hurt. I have been really surprised how well CBD seems to work...

I used to have a problem with insomnia as well. For me, melatonin helped a lot. Also, a white noise machine with different sounds like the ocean, crickets, etc.

i do a search for “slow blues”, and find about 1 to 2 hours of a playlist for white noise.

It is hard to sleep in in the morning if you like fresh air and and backward driving trucks are constantly beeping.
The noise from the fan helps sometimes, but still.

Some guy told me he plays "white noise" for his kid and it seems to work.

I finally tried TCM Traditional Chinese Medicine, He gave me some herbs to make tea, and told me what not to eat for a month. That worked for me.

Current routine:

11:30 pm take a 2mg Valium pill (lowest dose available)
12:00 eat a 5mg THC chewable, Blueberry Indica, Wana brand
12:05 turn on my white noise machine, then wash up, etc.
12:15 last terb view of the evening, then scroll through TikTok clips until I feel like lights out, usually by 12:40.
Usually asleep by 1:00 am.

Cuz I'm old usually have to get up to pee around 5 am, but no problem falling back asleep after that...

I typically don't have any trouble falling asleep. I will read until I feel drowsy and I am out. My problem is I usually will wake up at some point during the night to use the bathroom. Then my mind goes crazy (usually about work) and I have trouble falling back to sleep. I have discovered CBD/THC oil (I never smoked marijuana previously) and it definitely helps get me back to sleep during the night. I take it about an hour before bedtime, and now I fall right back to sleep during the night when I wake up. Great stuff (y)

I assume you're using an eyedropper to place the oil under your tongue. How many milligrams do you usually take?
