I think people don't realize just how dangerous standing even remotely near the explosion is. In the videos, it may seem like a tiny piece just flying out, but those "tiny" pieces can actually be 80-100 pound chunks of metal, flying at hundreds of km/h. If struck, it would mean instant death.

Even a single tire, which may not seem that heavy, is actually incredibly heavy (especially with rims attached, and can weigh hundreds of pounds) and traveling at high speeds has killed many people.

How do you think you got to watch this video?
Recorder and viewer are Darwin Awards candidates?

Horrible scene for those present around that site at the time, especially the driver behind, who started reversing after the blasts won't stop. Flying splinters in the close vicinity could become life altering for victims, if any.

Who cares about seeing the video. It makes no difference to the outcome. Stopping your car in a live lane of traffic is one of the dumbest things you can do. What often happens is someone else is rubbernecking and plows into the back of you. Then you become just the latest Darwin Award winner. Complete idiots.

What kind of idiots stop partially in the passing lane to take a video?
I was thinking the same thing initially but there were no cars coming through.
