Youll find the farther from downtown you go, the cheaper the hotels

http://www.expedia.ca would eb a good place to start fro hotel names, book thru them or compare the prices against the hotels website

Kingston Rd.

There's still the motel strip on Kingston Rd, ranging from bad indenpendants(check out the ever popular HAVE A NAP), to some chains.

Prices vary, but there are some clean ones.

Priceline

"We were not able to process this request since our records indicate you have already made a request for this same trip.

We'd be happy to try your request again if you can do any one of the following:
Change your dates of stay
Select a different hotel quality star level
Add more areas in which you'd be willing to stay

If you can change any of these items, you can also name a new price. If you are unable to change your request as indicated above, you will need to wait at least 24 hours from the time you made your original offer to try again."

in bold  why is it saying to wait 24hrs to bid again?

On priceline you can get a 4star hotel downtown with their taxes and the exchange rate for 80 or less. I have stayed at the Sheraton on Queen, Marriott on Bloor west, the hotel at the Rogers Centre. I wouldn't consider using one of the Canadian sites to stay in Toronto, its priceline all the way.

There are also "Day" rates available if you aren't staying overnight for much less money at some hotels.
