Seen it before.
Testosterone is pumping, sometimes can be roid rage.
Who knows why this one happened, but no reason to keep hitting him when he is down and out.
The worst one I saw, the guy hit was an ignorant asswipe. Anywhere else would have been a shoving match, but in a gym it generally gets elevated easier. Roids were a factor in that one, don't piss off a juicer.

Sorry guys, you're wrong about it being a sucker punch, the guys hads were clasped in front of him and the attacker came from no where....Now he wasn't blindsided but that was a sucker punch....
Just so you're aware, and it's probably the same way here, that the person throwing the first fist is most likely to be arrested should the police be involved. Even IF buddy was talkin' shit the charge could be as low as aggravated assault but the hits after he was out? That would be assault with intent to injure or worse.
