Hey everybody, newbie here...

Very interested in the hobby, but not sure about Canadian law regarding SP (and the customers)tho...coz I realllllyyy don't wanna fall victim to a sting or a sudden check....

Anyone care to comment on any tips, red flags, on how LE views this whole industry, on whether incall/outcall is safer...particularly hotel outcalls, seeing as this is the one that appeals to me the most...

Anything on this topic will be very helpful...

Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

There is no law in Canada against prostitution per se. There are laws against being in a "bawdy house" (fancy term for an incall place), running a bawdy house, soliciting in a public place, and setting up calls (as a business). Actually the law is a little more complicated, but as a customer you can go with the above.

So this means: your outcall with an escort is totally legal! The cops have no reason to bother you.

All incalls are illegal, being contrary to the bawdy house law. However, the police give relatively low priority to busting discrete, properly run incall places in downtown Toronto, if there are no neighbours' complaints. This means that a quiet, well-managed joint in the Cabbagetown area is unlikely to be busted. So you can hobby with a 99% clear mind.

This type of thing should be written up and stickied.

I agree with you guys. Unless a neighbour files a complaint, there's no reason to worry. Most of the places busted in the last couple of months were very noisy and too open to the public, too visible.

Well, there's also immigration issues as well. Some incalls that over do it on the "visitor visa" thing tend to get in trouble as well. If you stay out incall services that use foreign girls, that lowers your chances of getting caught up in an immigration related sweep ... also limits your options for available incalls by about 75% as well.

Simply avoid those 50$ 15 minute FS asian incalls that serve 1000 men a day and you are fine.

If you get caught in a "bawdy house", what happens to you? Do you get a criminal record and pay a fine or go to jail?

You will spend the night in jail, post bail the next day, go to court, pay a fine and have a spot on your record. Not the best for those that don't want the SO from finding out about your hobby. Best thing is either an outcall, in which case, as long as you indicate that you are paying for the girls time only, you are perfectly safe with any activity that goes on between the two of you after that in the privacy of the home/hotel. As for incalls, so long as the site is just one person and not multiple people, the same holds true.
Just avoid SW and doing it in public, that is going to get you major league busted. It isn't pretty.

Wow, thanks for all the info....but just to get this straight...so this means that a session at a hotel/motel/what have you is considered an OUTcall as opposed to an INcall?

The reason being I don't think my nerves are strong enuff for incalls (too risky LE-wise), but I'm curious about meeting the girls at a pre-arranged meeting place and time (most obvious example is a hotel downtown). Would this be considered incall or outcall? Since I'm "going in" but the girls are also "going out".... And what are the chances that LE busts these "short hotel sessions"?

Any info on the above?

Again, thanks for all the info so far...I'm learning something new everyday!

SW is streetwalker - what you see on the news or on HBO's show hookers and johns. The good old-fashioned hooker on a street corner. Think Hugh Grant and Devine.

As for meeting an SP, the room is either rented in your name (outcall) or her name (incall). Since you are looking to avoid LE and keep it legal, you would need to have the lady visit you at your residence or hotel room.

Those are considered outcalls and are legally perfectly safe. The only exception might be with a really sleazy Kingston Road motel set-up where the girls rent the room 24/7 and use it with the knowledge of management. This would turn it into an incall. One of the legal definitions of "bawdy house" concerns habitual, as opposed to coincidental and occasional use.

Re legal sanctions, if you are caught in an incall joint: you may well get the charges dropped if you agree to go to "john school". The latter is a vile and stupid "educational session" where feminazis scream at you about how you are degrading women by paying for sex. The cops and the prosecutors support this nonsense and it gets minor prostitution charges out of the system. You are unlikely to get jail time or a fine on a first offence "john" charge. More likely a lecture from the judge and maybe probation.

that's what i was thinking too (or at least, hoping)
because if a girl booked a room in a hotel (again, not a roachbag motel) for the whole day and clients come and go, as i don't think a girl will only rent a hotel room for an hour or two the whole day just to meet ONE client, then it would still technically be legal as you are paying for HER time (and time only), innit? It's not a bawdy house operation, thats what I'm thinking, since hotel management probably wouldn't know about this...

Boy, this legal stuff is pretty complicated. And john school sounds annoying and/or scary, depending on how u look at it:rolleyes:

You said a mouthful. But you'd best leave the "technically legal" stuff to lawyers, and remember, they get rich playing that game in court while you get a record. Remember too, they only safely can say what's technically legal when the Supremes have pronounced.

But lest there be confusion: Paying her for sex is legal—anywhere that isn't public. Providing/operating the premises for that purpose is not, and hotel owners have and will be convicted as bawdy house operators. If you are found-in a bawdy house and convicted of same, you have a criminal record. You and the hotel owner can hope the presumption of innocence operates at your trials, but once the Crown has established the place is/was a BH, you'd both best start lining up proof of your innnocent/ignorant presence.

whoa, i guess there's almost no sure-fire way to be 100% safe eh...unless it's an outcall to your home.

Hypothetical question:

Suppose you have a lot of money, a penis that never quits, and a room at a large hotel like the Sheraton, Marriott, Delta, etc.

You're seeing 10+ outcall SPs a day. Girls are going in and out of your hotel room like it's a frickin' Wal-Mart.

If the hotel and/or your neighbors complain, is there anything LE could do? Could they argue that you turned your hotel room into a "bawdy house"?

Technically I believe they could try ... they can, and have done similar things in cases where the house was used for "swinging" (although the ruling from a year ago or so in Quebec may make it a lot harder for them to get results.)

“common bawdy-house” means a place that is

(a) kept or occupied, or

(b) resorted to by one or more persons

for the purpose of prostitution or the practice of acts of indecency;
The "practice of acts of indency" sort of opens it up to all kinds of things.

Fortunately, the courts have been consistent enough so that cops don't bust you for jerking off, fucking your wife, or calling out for a prostitute ... but I assume they still could even though they would lose in court.

Is a massage parlour such as B&S or SRM considered a body house. Can we get in trouble there ?

I've often wondered that! There was a time that I was about to walk into a massage parlour, got approached by a cop, and had to fake that I was going to the convenience store the next door when the cop talked to me, I think we both knew what was going on.

But I mean, what da hell? If that is illegal, why not just come in and shut the MP down? The frickin' neon lights were glowing in front of me that night. Why resort to "scare tactics" if that was what it was?
