In light of recent shooting in a movie theatre in Colorado, what would you have done?

my question is, realizing this psycho is killing and out to kill as many people in the theatre, what would you have done if you were one of the movie goers?
I take my inspiration from what Mark Wahlberg would have done.Stopped him in his tracks.

hearing some of the survivors speak on news, it seems like this psycho was proceeding row by row shooting people one by one, so playing dead wouldn't have worked... Many of whom survived got spared or only suffered gun shots because the psycho's gun got jammed partway.

Not to play superhero but IF he did walk past me on the way up the stairs(with me "playing" dead face down on the floor), your only going to get one chance.Immediately after he got past, fall in behind him rising up as you did,(it's dark and smoky and he has a gas mask on which would limit his peripheral vision)bring your arms around him pulling tight and down as you lock them. This MAY knock his weapon out of his hand or at very least aim it downward.

Once there.Pivot your body ing him with you and aim straight down the stairs.Head first. With his arms locked he'll land on his head ,gas mask and all which will A)shatter or B) dislodge and blind him.Hang on for dear life. The closer you are to him the less chance you have of taking a bullet.Once there, grab his arms as quickly as possible and to be quite honest slam his head into the floor.

I worked as a doorman for 3 years in my early 20's.We got told alot of neat stuff. All this should take about 5 seconds.
And hope that he's not handy with a blade.

I worked the doorman gig too and found out that if in doubt, I'm more important than the boss or the customers.

Very true.I only mentioned that because I saw a co-worker do what i described with a customer one night that was carrying a hunting knife.Replace stairs with wall.

In the Dark Knight the Joker got captured and "gave up" only to have a more nefarious plot in place. The suspect told the police his apartment was booby trapped. Why? What did he gain by it? Everything I've read... this guy had skills with explosives.Everything i've read he planned meticiously.......after all that planning why did he give up that information so easily? People head back to work tomorrow. What if this is not over?

true... every security personal you come across and body guard of stars and musicians are taught their life is more important that those they're looking out for.. They are not expected to take a bullet for them.

unless you are part of the secret service ofcourse and guarding the US president ;)

I don't know exactly what I would have done , since, thankfully, I've never been in such a situation.

If it ever does happen , I hope I'd act better than this.

I would have run down the aisle, jumped off the left wall, swung from the ceiling, done a double flip and kicked the guy in the head. Then I would remember that's what happens on the movie screen, and that I'm in the seats. I would have done my best to hide. Once hidden, I would probably try and dial 911, if possible. Given any opportunity to escape, I would have run like hell.
