US Election

What the F.. is going on, here!! Not even one positive thread about our fabulous President, Bush.

Well Neighbors, I hate to burst your bubbles but, here is my take on the next election.

For us Americans, It is all about fighting terrorism, stupid!!! Thank God (Not allah) for having George Bush, as our president, and having the Republicans control both the House and Senate. If it were not for them, terrorist will be roaming all over US, just like they do in Canada. Canadians even made an asshole like Maher Arrar, a hero.

I predict, as well as I hope, Republicans will maintain both houses. Then, all your dreams, about impeaching our beloved President Bush, will be down the toilet drain.:)

Good satire. Speaking of which, whatever has become of all our conservative friends on the board?

I think he, too, deserves the title Glorious Leader. We should amend the Patriot Act to make it a crime to refer to him otherwise. And an extra 18 months in Gitmo for anyone who calls him a chickenhawk!

Hey Max, that being the case, what would be the fate of Libertarian Justin Raimondo... shot and buried in a pig skin perhaps?

The War Party, Then and Now- October 20, 2006

Jonah Goldberg: I was wrong – but you're stuck with the consequences

The widely noted dumbing-down of conservatism has elevated the clueless, the vapid, and the downright dangerous to leadership positions in the movement. The radio shouters and boob-tube oracles have reduced the thoughtful philosophy of Russell Kirk, Richard Weaver, and Frank S. Meyer to the braying, mindless sloganeering of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Ann Coulter. Their Bizarro World "conservatism" is an inversion of the original: it means big government and the surveillance state at home, and a "revolutionary" policy abroad. The noted conservative philosopher Claes Ryn aptly describes the post-9/11 Right as "neo-Jacobin," because it seems to have been generated by sheer bloodlust and a will to dominate.

Well, no, she's not. Perhaps you're anticipating. After the VP, the fat, bloated current House Speaker Hastert is next in line, followed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate Ted Stevens, followed by the Secretary of State Condi Rice.
That is only true if the POTUS would die suddenly, then the VP would take over, if the VP dies then the Speaker of the house would be in charge..after that I am not sure.
If the VP would resign Bush would be able to appoint whoever he wants.
Might be interesting from a strategic point of view, to appoint somebody more moderate..just a thought.

I think your line of succession only comes in to play if hter is unforseen circumstances...I Think:confused:

I don't trust the D's since LBJ.
I don't trust the R's since Nixon.

Give me one good reason to trust either party.
there is none...may I propose a Jeffersonian revolution?

I thought a VP appointment also had to be approved by the house?

The process works like this. Rummy comes in at sixth in line.

Sorry, but the House has been hiding and covering up the Republican child molesters like Foley and others thanks to Cardinal Hastert knowing all about it and lying. There are no Reagan Republicans, so they will lose power. 23 go to the Dems. Maybe more if we find another pervert in there.

That is a very good point. I think we should be looking at building a fence in case they try to get in here.

You are absolutely right. There is me, all the red states, and millions other concerned American patriots, who would not take any chances on the moslem terrorists issue.

I have participated in every election, since 9/11. When I cast my vote, 3000 innocent Americans, killed on 9/11, is the only thing that comes to my mind, when I cast my vote.

You do not need to worry about that.

Americans are not going anywhere, even if George Bush rules for the next 100 years. On the contrary, people from all over the world, are coming to the US, legally or illegally. There are approximately 13 million illegal residents in the US. It is almost half of Canada’s population. Please tell me how many illegal’s there are in Canada.

Twelve.

But there's a demonstration of what's wrong with the U.S. for you: a dingbat who's proud of the uillegals.

There was a guy from the minute men border patrol on the Colbert Report last night.

He was talking about the illegal alien issue and the Mexican border. He said "We have to do something with our borders. There are 6 billion people in the world and they all want to be American"

He actually said that and I think, believed it.
