I can concur...
This thing does get in the way, plus a few things to consider.
The rates are out of this world. One SP wants $300 for an PSE, plus you have to park at King & Yonge. Another asks for $220 and gives you a lame BBBJ plus a lame session. The never been seen before girl who asks for $300 - based on what? The asian B&S places. The drama, scams and money gone.
The attitude of booking an appointment and continually hearing of no shows. Then the opposite whereby an SP complains about a no show and they wonder why? In our case, it's the job, the kids, the boss, the meeting or life that put you in a situation where you can't make it. You would like to call and cancel, but maybe that conference call is still happening or something.
The days only a few years ago where you could see Zanna, Charlie, and a host of others. $200 was what a phenominal session got you. Ladies charged less until they had credibility.
Yes, there are goals we have and sometimes these things become nothing more than an unwelcome distraction. I hope he meets his goals. I hope he decides to stay away for the right reasons and if he returns maybe because its is for the right reasons and things have improved.

I contemplate quitting all the time, actually.
The risk of getting caught (or catching something), the expense, the (occasional) disappointment of a lacklustre session, the guilt I feel when I look in the mirror... With such a huge downside, it really makes no sense to continue hobbying, especially since I'm in a great relationship with a beautiful woman who's every bit as sexual as I am.
The problem is that I'm hard-wired to irrationally desire MANY beautiful women - what we poonhounds call "the strange".
I understand and accept this aspect of my psychological makeup, but it doesn't make me feel like any less of a creep.

We should keep a list of all the guys who have said that they were going to retire and did, as well as those who said that they were going to retire and came back.
Svend (the guy with the little dog) comes to mind as a guy who said he was going to retire and to date has note come back.

was a good sweet honest man. I'll never forget how kind he was. Such a sweety. He really looked out for me. I was lucky enough to know quite a lot of men like him who I still consider true friends till now. I knew when he said he was leaving he would not be back.

oh if you think I was first to mention his handle I wasn't. Plus, I am aware of the conditions he left here by. Trust me his protection is very simple. It is just not coming back here at ALL. Invisible or otherwise. He is a smart man and when he enters a relationship he will not risk it. If he was in one and hobbying and thought he was getting found out I am sure he would do like others and change his handle. (which he didn't) I know a few people that have had to change thier handles for similar reasons, myself included and those names if I am aware include risks I would not bring back up.

I know Svend would not like the name Mongrel. He must`ve missed post 31 & 32. It`s ok Hugo we all are human and make mistakes. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.
No one really ever knows if someone is 'out' for good. They may be out of TERB, but not out out. They may be out as that handle and in as another one. Or they may really be out. Who knows. Who cares.
