Well, if you actually think that being bi-polar equates to retarded then there's an immediate problem. Seeing people ranting on a subway is common even in Toronto. And they're usually people with mental health issues. If this guy were standing on a soapbox in a subway station with signs and a megaphone that would be one thing. But he's in a seat, with a shopping bag, yelling at nobody in particular. Likely off his meds would be my guess.

At any rate, the video is posted, so it's only a matter of time before somebody finds and interviews the guy. So so people should keep their outrage on ice for a bit and bring it out when more info comes out.

Black, white, red, yellow, etc ... every NYC had at least one of these guys wandering through the trains ranting about something. I didn't think any particular rant was ever notable except possibly someone looking to justify their own rants.

And who among us isn't in some sort of way mentally unstable ? Many people suffer with Ptsd or addiction or depression or stress an anxiety disorders but that doesn't make them racist !

I don't believe it was an everyday topic until recently. For this thread, it's because somebody took a video of a guy who is likely mentally ill, but labelled it as racist and went further and speculated about political intentions. For a guy who is likely bipolar and off his meds. That's what happens when you have an ignorant, racist slob as leader of the most powerful country in the world. And what does he do with this power? He spends hours on Twitter ranting about shit he should be too busy to care about. That brings the fringe elements out from the shadows (on both sides).

If people break into angry rants for no reason and start screaming that those around them are "devils", 99% chance it's paranoid schizophrenia and they're off their meds. It happens from time to time and it's got nothing to do with racism, non racism or anything else in the not-crazy world.

I've dealt with exactly this type of situation about a dozen times in my legal career with unstable clients and also seen it walking around downtown.

Like I said, if it was a white person screaming black people are "devils", I would say exactly the same thing.
