Speaking as a small c conservative, I am voting Liberal. It's a strange feeling.

With all due respect to Fred and my liberal friends, and I know Hudak hasn't made the impression that fellow conservatives were hoping for, this province has lost it's economic dominance, and I can't buy into McGuinty's (or the Liberals') M.O. of making promises they can't keep just to get elected.

Some people in this industry will not vote C because it's in their best interests, and I can respect that, but I don't think conservatives will change the playing field for hobbyists as some have opined.

In any event, I hope people just get out and vote, whoever it is they support. Indifference or apathy is worse than partisanship.

I guess you weren't born when Ray was premier.
I was almost bankrupt during the early days of Rae,s Premiership, but it wasn't his fault. The GST threw my books into chaos. Those were the days of Springhurst, Kraft Diners and Libby's beans.

Voted Orange. Just because I'm tired of the reds and the blues didn't impress me either...so it was almost by default...

I'll never forgive McGuinty for the HST..
The Conservatives introduced the GST which frankly, makes Canada more competitive, and puts less reliance on income taxes, so the more you consume, the more you pay.

The HST is a progression from the GST, with similar economic benefits (flow thru nature means 8% pst isn't a layered cost to the chain of getting goods to market).

What I don't like about the HST is Recaptured Input Tax Credits (RITCs), which means large businesses (over $10M in sales) must addback the 8% portion of the 13% HST for certain purchases. It's a pain in the ass from an administrative aspect, and will last until 2018 (I guess the deal for a harmonized tax was these RITCs).
