I am an American. I am allowed to diss the place. And I think U.S. tourism offerings have declined over the years as the wealthy older folks have driven up prices in Florida and along other coastal areas, and large cities have been overtaken by the homeless.>>I felt this way long before the U.S. had our own version of Beloved Leader.
The only thing worth seeing in the U.S. are the national parks in the west. But the Canadian west is a fine substitute.
Disney and Orlando, please. I love how Book of Mormon ties in childhood Disney fantasy to organized religion. Teach them all that fantasy make believe in the never-ending Disney films you need to participate in a lot of deprogramming later in life when they hit the real world. Women are the most susceptible and wait for Prince Charming until at least age 26, which I think is the age that psychobabblers now say childhood ends in the United States. <<
I find it hilarious that the 3rd largest country in the world can be condensed into "National Parks and Disney World." I'm literally LMAO at this statement. Forget about the 50 individual states, with their individual types of people and foods and climates. All the different types of terrain. All the coasts from the Atlantic, swinging down to the Gulf of Mexico and back up the Pacific. Ignore world cities like NYC or LA, and also all the "smaller" ones like Chicago, Miami, Dallas, New Orleans... hell even Las Vegas (who thought of a city like that???). All the other cities and different cultures. The US borders Mexico and includes the state of California, which by itself, is the 4th largest economy in the WORLD. And yes... insane National Parks and Disney World (which I'm against as well. LOL). Heck... one of the states is out in the middle of the ocean for crying out loud!
I'm not dogging on any country. I love Toronto. I LOVE travelling. Those cities you listed are fantastic... and there are literally THOUSANDS of awesome places to visit around this globe... but the lack of respect of what America offers is pretty incredible to me.
And I travel quite a bit, as you can see from my contributions in the International section of Terb, and of the ladies I have seen in Toronto.
People here underrate and misunderstand the U.S. escort scene, which has always irritated me.
But I think people from outside the U.S. overrate U.S. tourism. Just my opinion, of course. I greatly enjoy the national and state parks out west, but that is about it.
I think many Canadians travel to the U.S. out of habit, and I suggested they give Europe a try. Or maybe Australia if they can tolerate the long plane ride.
