Sounds like more of a prank than anything else. Certainly there must be something more important going on.

And if the CEO uses the corporate jet he told the shareholders saved them thousand an hour over waiting in airports to fly his wife and kids to a vacation resort?

He too is a crook.

Yes and I'm sure you would be the first to complain. Don't be such a hypocrite when it happens to one that shares your beliefs.

If this guy's only excuse is that other people break the law it's a pathetic defense you are mounting.

Yup, that's called misappropriation of company property. This is of course that there isn't a part of his contract that gives him total unsupervised access to it.

No different than a stock boy "borrowing" the company cube van to move......

I bet the union leader is not authorized to use City of Toronto property at his leisure. In fact, I bet there is something in the contract that states that only EMTs are authorized to use the vehicles and only on emergency calls.

Then it would be a part of his pay package—unearned like banked sickdays. It's sorta self-evident from the police response that he wasn't authorized don'cha think? But as you recognize, thieving takes place at all levels. That a union guy does it proves nothing about unions, any more than a white car thief proves white guys are carjackers.

So because it's done everywhere by all sorts of people, then it's ok to do it. WRONG !!!

Oh, just a "for the record" the warehouse guy who borrowed the company cube van to move was at a place I worked at. The GM found out about it when he went in late saturday for something and noticed it gone. He checked the sign out sheet and no one signed it out. He didn't call the cops right away because those authorized (and insured) to drive it sometimes forgot.

He was considering charging the UNION warehouseman with theft but gave him 3 days suspension instead (agreed to by the shop foreman).

a similar thing happened in Windsor. Some 72 year old man dumped his garbage at the CUPE office. While he was out of his car a lady reached in and grabbed the keys ,went into the office, locked the doors and called the cops. The man was fined $125 and the lady was arrested for theft under $5000 and could do three years.

He too is a crook.

Maybe he is, maybe not
He has to answer to his shareholders, who may or may not condon his personal use of the corporate jet.
If he has increased their return & driven the stock price up, then they will not give a rats ass.
If he has not, then they may vote to fire him.
But if your not a shareholder & the company recieved no public funds, this is not any of your business

In this guys (union leader) case , the group he leads is ultimately responsible to the taxpayers.
That is the who pays the wages

From what I read, he has not done taxpayers any favours (infact probaly the opposite).
If he had worked hard to control costs & improve the servioce to the general public, perhaps we could cut him some slack.

More union fingers in the public purse & now he is stealing.
Great headlines to garner public support for the misguided cause
