Actually a Rabbi once used that analogy on me when I was studying at age 12. I asked him about the necessity of going to Synagogue every Sabbath if I practice religion at home and he said you can't become a mechanic if you don't go to the garage.

But I know this much -- If you fart in church you sit in your own pew.
