I've heard that there is a product that you can buy somewhere specifically designed for keeping birds and other small animals away. Not sure what it's called or where you can get one but I would try a larger garden center first. You plug it in and it gives out a screech from either an eagle or hawk every so often..... Scares the hell out of them.

Effective, but also kills anything else that eats it. The flock will avoid your area for 6 to 8 weeks or so, once word gets out that Ralph and Smitty are missing.
Very illegal.
The sonic detectors seem more irritating than the birds if that's even possible.
Commercial or homemade nail strips on landing/roosting areas will deter re-infestations. These are little strips of 3" nails that look like the beds of nails Fakirs supposedly lie on in India.
Or try stringing lines of fishing line where they like to land.
