If a thread this useless makes it to a second page...the terrorists have truly won

Always makes me wonder why there are those who find it a need to make fun of another's challenges and how they deal with them. Until one walks in the Op's shoes, one needs to learn to respect someone else's journey.

But it doesn't make you wonder why someone would tell a bunch of strangers something, or nothing, to be precise, for no apparent reason and apologize to someone who presumably won't see it?

One wonders what ones purpose is in ones sanctimonious lecture.

I'm not going to walk in Goober's shoes, I can only guess where they've been.

This is dead serious.

I wanted to post a public mea culpa. I will not ever get into details, but I will say that I betrayed a special friendship that I had made recently, and I feel really shitty about it. The person I hurt is special, sweet, beautiful and incredibly fun to be with. I'm going to miss her terribly.

No, I won't share any more details than this - but I can assure you that I have learned a valuable lesson and will try to take this as a learning experience going forward. that my actions can and do hurt others. I have been agonizing over this hurt all day.

I'm sorry baby.
Hopefully you will start to feel better before too long. I suppose the silver lining is that, as you say, you learned a valuable lesson.

What I do when I find myself in situations where I'm agonizing over something that I can't undo is to try to spread good karma around for a while until I feel better. Buy a sandwich for the homeless person who is asking for spare change. Be an extra courteous driver. Volunteer at a shelter. It'll all help one regain your mojo as a good person I've found. If the habits last longer, all the better.

Hey Goober, sorry about whatever happened. But as I said in my first response, unless you are going to give us some more details, then it should be a personal thing and not shared with anybody. And this is not an attack on Goober. Just coming on this board with such a post without details, where everyone starts speculating, doesn't make any sense. Especially if you say this is dead serious. This could be anything, or nothing.

This thread is not hard to figure out.

Goober fucked up and made a mistake that cost him a friendship.
He learned his lesson and will not make the same mistake
The person probably reads TERB and has gotten his apology.
If not, then he was writing to help him get closure and release his feelings.

OR.....

He is just fucking with everyone.

I think the former. Let him have his thread. No biggie. :D

Also if Gobber is Married or has a SO, like some of us, and make friends with SP's like some of us. WHO can we really talk too?? I know when I have lost contact with a SP ( for what ever reason) the only "friends" I can discuss this with is on Terb or an other SP. And sometimes discussing other SP's with other SP's just leads to more drama and issues.

All the best Gobber! If your friend was a SP. I hope you have ohther SP's you enjoy seeing and can talk to. I found this worked best for me.

Not sure what the "Rate this thread" button at the top right corner of my screen actually does or is used for, but I feel I have to select "Terrible" for this one...

Betrayal is in someones nature, something you can`t change. Leave this person alone for her sake. You should be ashamed and disgusted with yourself.
