I come from a place where you're white Anglo, white French, native, or some combination there in. I used to always tell my folks that, "I like my coffee like I like my women: Strong and black." Which was good until the first time I had a monogamous relationship with a black woman and I stopped saying it. That's how they figured it out. It was a bit of an adjustment for my folks, and I don't much use that phase anymore, unless I'm with a black woman and particularly when I'm with a black woman in front of my folks.
