As far as meeting new people, everyone gets along in the beginning. Eventually everyone gets annoyed with each other after getting to know one another. Poor planning has me working longer than I had hoped to. I don't really enjoy people so finding hobbies if I was retired wouldn't be easy. I know many guys 60 plus who can retire but went back to work cuz them and their wives are at each other's throats.

I holiday in Thailand and it's a paradise but I get bored a lot so I drink to pass the time. I think having a reason to get up everyday is important.

You can just relax ...

I was worried about eventually becoming a blob, getting fat and dying.

I am on monthly retirement income but decided I wanted to keep active. I am on contract for a small company with growth opportunities. It is hectic but I'm enjoying myself.

Same position as OP. I spend 50% of my time in Canada (April-sept) where I spend majority of my time at the cottage and a couple of weeks in the condo in the city for appointments. I then spend the other 50% travelling slow. It is not for everyone, but works for me.

Take the time to decide what you want, don't rush, and think that some of the stuff you wanted do at a younger age, and did not do will make you happy, as you have probably changed in certain areas.

Enjoy as you never know what is around the bend.

I suggest work on checking off your bucket list items. sooner than later. Life can change sometimes with little notice(s).

If you ask most people, if they had 2 years to live.

What would they do?

The only answer you get is that they would travel.

If you don't have any ties keeping you here, there are much better places you could spend your time.

Mexico is fairly cheap, if you stay away from the normal hotspots.

I was in Italy last year in October, it was 30c. i stayed clear of the tourist "coast", as in Rome and Milan. I would hit the east coast spots like Bari and the towns south.

As for women, i find it much easier to meet women overseas. Women who are not judging you because you have a android phone and don't wear a Canada Goose coat.
