It happened again! I am behind a bastartd at the check out couter at the grocery store and he challenges the price of the milk. So, now the girl has to call someone for a price check. It takes 5 minutes just for the clerk to get to the counter and then he heads off and disappears. Another 5 minutes go by and everyone is still stalled at the check out counter. I had about 15 items already on the counter to I just walked away. I will also walk away at the 8 items or less counter if I see people with more than 8 items. Fuck them!

If I am in the express lane and the person in front of me has items than allowed (not that the stores care), I count outloud as they put each one on the conveyor.

I understand your frustration. However sometimes the grocery store cashiers scan in the wrong prices. There could be a flyer sale on milk that week but often the computer system of the supermarket will still scan in the higher price. It can get very irritating for the consumer as well!

You should whip out a calculator and hand it to those people. They'll ask "what's this for"?
Then you reply in a nice calm voice as if there's nothing wrong, "seems like you had a hard time adding to 8, so thought this might help"

Solution 1. Relax, smoke a little cat nip before you go shopping. Even if it doesnt help with the patience issue there is no way you will walk away from the groceries when you've got the munchies.

Solution 2. Shop with Rayfinkel. You'll only ever make it to the beer store and they have put an express lane in just for him.

Solution 3. Sleep with the grocery clerk. You can drop the items in her line, leave some cash and have her bring them over after work.

Do you really think the store would make someone go to another line if they were 1 or 2 items over the limit after they have rung up the 8 items????????

What do you do if something is 4 for a dollar 3 for 60 cents.??

I went to the grocery store on the way back from work, but I had to dump my basket of groceries because I was in Line for 10 minutes. I headed home started my cooking and went back to the store to get my stuff whie my diner was cooking. ( there are less people after 6:30 ) It is near by and only took 10 minutes.

BTW When I become Govenor, I will make a law that if someone has more than 8 items in the 8 items or less line. They will have to pay a $3 contribution to charity, as a penalty. This would be an automatic charge at the special cash register.

Some supermarkets and Camadian Tire have the self serve checkout where you scan UPC on product and pay by credit card yourself. I've never seen a lineup for these.

That's because the fucking things generally don't work with a shit and if you have something in bulk... forget it...
