There are shades to all our personalities and they change over time.
Don't become a prisoner of a fixed viewpoint. How you saw something yesterday does not necessarily mean that you have to see it the same way today...or tomorrow. Too often we write a script for ourselves and live it over and over.
In your case Toulouse it appears to be a very negative lifes script...this can be changed if you wish. You are what you think you are and that is your only limitation.
I'm not saying it is easy...it may not be possible to change the cards you have been dealt...but you can change how you see those cards and how you play them.

Not the best example, IMO. Esmeralda responded to Quasimodo's kindness, but ultimately rejected him. No intimacy for Quasimodo there.
