I have never been a member of the CAA. Nor will I be.

I had a rental car last year after the accident, was going out and warming it up, sweeping snow off it and the fucking thing locked. While running. My truck won't let me lock doors while it's running....
Fuck i hate that. Each manufacturer seems to have their own logic, and it's not well tested. Got locked out of mine once while it was parked and idling, i don't trust it - will open the window up just in case if I have to exit it while the engine is running.

Absolutely a must if you have a motorcycle. Try getting your bike towed 200 k and see what it will cost you. You do need CAA plus for this service.
Plus includes MC towing right? I may get CAA next year, I had a close call where the belt on my car failed so I had to nurse the car home. ... good thing I was close to home when it happened.

I tend to own my car a long time. Once it is out of warranty, I join CAA, for ~$120/year, cheap insurance, plus you can get discounts on hotel rooms, Blue Jays tickets, all sorts of stuff.

I start my truck with the button on the key fob. No need to run outside to start . Doors have to be locked for this to work . Truck runs for 15 mins with the doors locked . Then shuts off .

A friends daughter went on along road trip with 2 friends . Car broke down but they needed along tow . One girl used her CAA card for the first mileage , then the next girl used hers , then the next used hers and they were able to get back with the car . They got lucky that they were able to do that .

I have CAA plus and the RV package . Not going to leave the RV and only take the truck . That has never happened so far but CAA has saved my butt a few times . Not into changing a flat with my expensive suit on .

Had a problem a few years ago . My brother thought we had enough diesel to get to North Bay . Well he was wrong so we had to pull over at Lake Nosbonsing cut off at a gas station . Dam thing was closed . Didn't want to take a chance and run the truck dry even though we were very close to North Bay . Pain in the butt with a diesel engine to restart with tank being empty . Called CAA and they said that they don't deliver a can of diesel . Had to wait till the station opened up in the morning . When I finally got home I gave the area rep a piece of my mind . Plenty of cars and trucks run on diesel today . Learned our lesson that night . Always carry extra fuel when travelling North . You just never know who is opened or closed .

CAA has saved my ass a dozen times. It's like snow tires: you don't need them all the time but it's for that one time you do.

I will not use CAA because I feel they limit too much and take too long. However I am not stupid enough to not drive with roadside assistance.

I have mine thru my visa actually and it is the best I have seen. No limit on how many gas deliveries, car entries, battery charges. You don't have to upgrade to a premium. Wait times have been between 20-45mins.

I don't have to pay yearly because it is covered under my CC annual fee which is about the same as a CAA membership. Also with my bank account being what it is and the balance I carry, I don't even pay for the annual fee for the CC.

I hate this and it is often the reason I lock myself out of my vehicle.

Hey JL, remember the time I did that 20 mins into my drive to your place. My phone, my pets, all my equipment in the car, running and now locked. LOL Fun times!

wouldn't drive a mile without my CAA!!

In the past twelve months I've run out of gas once (free $20 gas deliver)
left my keys in the car (free break in service)
killed my battery (free boost)
got hit by a transport truck (totaled my SUV and was towed 240km)
and helped a buddy who's trailer had broken down (flatbed tow 150km)

all that for $159 per year ... hell ya. What a deal.

I don't pay quite as much as you do, but would also agree that it's worth it!!!!!!!!

I even used it to tow my mom's car to the mechanic.

It's a cheap form of insurance.

Present wait time for help is over an hour.

I maintain my car. I have never had a storm/cold fail to start situation. I know how to drive; have never been stuck and unable to free myself without damaging my cars.

I've save thousands over the years.

Ever heard of Murphy's Law?

After my warranty was up, I got CAA and have had the occasion to use it practically every year. I love it.
I did an outcall at the BW Roehampton and got a discount by mentioning CAA member (and I am one, ha ha).

not if you require a flatbed.. that's premium.
Took my car on a flatbed without any additional fee ... I'm CAA Plus which I thought was the regular membership. Maybe a regular tow truck wasn't available but I was not charged to take it to the dealership.
