I'm watching this stupid video by...god knows who, it doesnt even matter and in the video there are freeze frames with indicators popping up how much each part of their wardrobe costs.

There are quite a lot of good Hip Hop with none of those blingy and gangsta stuff if you dig around.

Rae & Christian from UK is pretty good.

Of course Ali G is da Dope , man.

Anywhere there's a Strip Joint
It's not called rap...it's called CRAP! And you can take the that garbage hip-hop with it...like there's much of a difference, it all sounds the same.

most rap artists now have no talent. they just take a killer beat from a hit back in the 70's/80's and spit some lyrics over it

I used to think that way as well. Rapping itself takes a lot of talent though if done well.

You guys are touching on a subject that is very dear to my heart.

There's tons of good hip hop out there. Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Common, Mos Def and Talib Kwali are all great rappers that leave all the bling and gangster stuff behind. Many have been classifying their style as 'Neo-soul' with guest appearances from Jill Scott, Floetry, Erykah Badu, Anthony Hamilton, Alicia Keyes, etc.

Now if your one of the few 30somethings+ that still enjoy the street stuff, Joell Ortiz, Re-up Gang, and Ya Boy, are a few new names that come to mind.

90's Hip hop is still my favourite but you can't be stuck in an era like that forever. well u could, but you'd end up looking like that Disco Stu guy from the Simpsons.

I'm in my 40's and like classic hard rock from the 70's and 80's that I grew up with but with rap music, I enjoy watching the Ying Yang Twins videos.

They have some HOT chicks in their videos, like their new one-dangerous

Common is good... but his type is somewhat rare. Kanye West is ok but I cant stand his cry baby attitude
