On Feb. 26, the AstraZeneca vaccine was approved for use by Health Canada. Ontario is expected to receive 194,500 doses of this vaccine next week and will be given to people between the ages of 60 and 64.

Any advice on how I can be one of the lucky few who get the vaccine in the next few weeks?

I don’t think family doctors are doing this or have any say. It is up to each Region.

I have found info for both Durham and Scarborough through google search of “region name COVID vaccines”. Although not much posted at this point. I think updates to these sites will happen within the next week or two

The info on the Astra shot hasn't been disclosed yet. You'll have to stay tuned.

Heard on CP24 that they are planning a "pilot" project this week before they go "live". If there are no issues, looks like March 15th ("Beware the Ides of March"). Should be available at your local pharmacy.

Other Countries that have the vaccine seem to have no issues get the shots done. Why the fk can't Canada figure it out. It's not fn rocket science, It's a shot in the arm. This is what happens when moron politicians are put in charge.

We should consider the Chinese or Russian vaccine, it is going to be another year for regular folk to get vaxxed and the economy opens up. If we had done so earlier we could have had everyone vaxxed by now.

Ford is going to announce tomorrow which pharmacies will be giving the AZ shots.
No kidding - we have 200,000 doses about to expire - they better use them since we stole them from poorer Countries...

Canada shouldn't take vaccine doses from COVAX partnership, says Canada's former UN envoy | CBC News

"Canada will receive 1.9 million doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine from the program by the end of June."

Had no idea we got hem already.
Pretty unclassy of Canada to dip into Covax.
We are seeing one of the side effects of covid 19 in just how selfish everyone is.
True colors revealed under pressure.
Look at how USA is behaving as well.

It isn't surprising when you think of it that Canada has turned to, and become the recipient of a vaccine welfare program supplied by world leaders who aren't like theirs. Canadians couldn't rely on theirs. So they get the shit AZ vax about to expire other countries didn't want any longer. Like the crappy canned and packaged food in peoples cupboards about to expire they give to food banks.

Where do you get the notion that the vaccine is "shit and no other countries want it"?? The AZ vaccine is wanted by any nation on this Planet. But Canada has won the race to get it, as they have planned to administer it within a month. Something that the Provinces agreed to prior to the shipment being agreed with The Government of India. Now if the expiry date is one month that does not mean that the vaccine is useless after a month. The stability testing may have been performed for only six months but that vaccine could last for around 1 year or so. There was probably either no time or the testing is ongoing to determine the true shelf life of the product.

Such ridiculousness and misinformation means that you should not take the vaccine and so allow someone else to benefit from it. Wish I was in that age group to get first in line!!

List of 46 pharmacies in Kingston area starting vaccinations for 60 to 64 age group as early as this Saturday.

You have to pre-book for appointments on the pharmacy website and there are only going to be 20,000 shots distributed between all 46.
Friend who manages TC location told me they have received over 700 applications at their location so far and he has been told he will only receive approximately 430 doses.

I saw on the TV news that we are not suppose to call our doctors about it - we have to wait for them to call us. I know this doesn't make any sense but that's what I heard. The Shoppers Drug Marts I called so far who are suppose to be participants in the pilot project for 60-64 all have recorded messages saying they don't have any vaccines yet.
