Hello,
I know one of the main concerns sp's and clients have with one another is hygiene. Nobody wants to be doing business with a dirty, smelly person. One of the reasons why I shower before leaving to an incall, or when an outcall is expected to show up. However, I have one problem that I'm self conscious of. My breath stinks. I'm aware of this. I've been told it's due to my diabetes(unsure how), but apparently that's the excuse my dentist gives. I brush my teeth regularly, floss regularly, don't smoke, don't eat alot of smelly foods, use Listerine, etc. While driving to an incall, I usually suck on a breath mint or chew on some Clorettes. But I still know that my breath is unpleasant. Can anyone give any advice on how to get rid of some horrible halitosis?

Get a tongue scraper and use it very often from the tip to the base. Sounds like you also have a gastric problem. Try eating more natural foods with a lot of fibre, and staying away from frozen, ready made and junk foods. Also if you are on a high protein diet, then it contributes to your mouth odour issues, due to the build-up of ketones in your blood stream. You should balance it with increasing your carbohydrates intake.

For a quick fix, rinse with the yellow listerine (the antibacterial one) right before the appointment (spit on the road or something) or bring it in and ask to use her bathroom for a quick once over.

Also you should bear in mind that a number of these mouth washes contain alcohols and other chemicals that dehydrate the mouth, and eventually exercebate the problem in the long term.

Use CLOSYS of Rowpar Pharmaceutical Inc.(www.rowpar.com). I got it from a Dental surgeon in Brampton. Drug store does not carry it. It costs about $25 for a bottle. I had a terrible bad breath, all gone in 7 days. Good luck.

My diabetes is under great control. Type 1. Averages about 6.5-8.0. Little lower when I first wake up, but nothing to worry about. Believe me when I say I take great care of my diabetes. I've seen what happens when one doesn't. Scared me straight.
I honestly don't see anything wrong with my oral hygiene. Brush and floss regularly. Never had any dental problems. Had a tooth knocked out during a fight once, which turned out to my benefit. If it wasn't knocked out, my bottom jaw line would be crooked. Could be diet. I'll try changing it for a few months and see if it makes a difference. I'll be the first to admit that I'm a carnivore. Joy of being raised up north. We grew and shot most of our food.
