Huge concrete lion stolen from the manor

It’s stood guard over the Manor hotel and strip club in Guelph for the past 15 years.

But the four-foot-tall, 200-pound concrete lion in front of the building wasn’t removed overnight for a rest break or a shift change – it was taken by thieves.

“The poachers are back,” says Manor owner Roger Cohen.

Just a guess, but try this on for size: Six people loaded the statue in the pickup, everybody that could fit in the pickup drove off with the statue and the rest 'fled the scene' in a grey station wagon. Wasn't there to confirm this is what happened, but suspect it's the story that got lost in translation from owner to cop to reporter to us.

If the city wanted to close it down, it would have bought out the business and closed it down like the doll house.

Unless the business doesn't really want to sell and these rumours have been going on for 25 years! Anything and anybody is for sale just have to get the right price..........

I'm really sorry for the Manor's loss.... but would anyone else agree that a little "Atta Boy" is in order ?
