You took this long to dig out something from over 12 years ago ... brilliant

Why don't you try something more recent like this simple ask google:

Is Canadian Tire financially successful?

Canadian Tire Corporation Ltd., a retail company headquartered in Toronto, had revenues amounting to approximately 16.66 billion Canadian dollars in 2023. This is an increase of approximately 4.7 billion Canadian dollars compared to 2012.

A lot of these companies on the outside seem to be doing good when on the books they are struggling. The high rent as I mentioned in the small business topic about the cookie shop doesn't shock me. It's no different than people who have friends who show off with newer/bigger homes and designer clothes along with fancy vehicles. Most these peoples are just using loans to show an image when they should downsize and stuff. I guess in the corp world people's ego play a factor so they string stuff along as much as they can until it's time to claim bankruptcy. I'd assume once they can't get more investors on board and the banks say no too that's when they gotta man up. I've seen this happen with a small corp I worked for in my 20s. It's a numbers game at the end of the day with the business model of obtaining as many investors as they can and seeing who knows when they want out with a gain and gtfo.

Oh, all I saw was the stock photo and the date on it was from 2012.
They are restructuring for future growth. It's not saying it's in imminent danger of collapse like The Bay.
Unlike The Bay they are actually thinking of strategies for future growth and implementation plans.
Regardless they are still profitable and people do shop there. Unlike The Bay.

All retail is in trouble because of Ebay and Amazon.
It sucks, because The Bay always had good customer service

Alright. Cool. I thought I was loosing it fully. Yea I agree it's not in immediate danger too. But man anytime I shop there it's dead. Who knows how things will look 10 years from now. Hope things remail strong at CT.

Some locations though are not busy so sure some should be closed down. The one in the Eaton Center is very busy.
