I'd put a mask on and wash my hands even more often. We understand how plagues spread, so the fear is way overblown.
You won't be able to wear that mask 24/7. Although we understand how plagues in the past have spread, we cannot predict how future ones might. There would be massive hysteria and misinformation going around as well. I'm old enough to remember how society reacted to AIDS in the 1980s... people including medical doctors simply didn't have all the details about it and for that reason many people were legitimately scared about being around people with the disease. It would be that all over again but magnified 1000x if there was an unknown plague killing hundreds of thousands per month across Canada and the USA. Just imagine something horrifying like
Ebola but more infectious and potentially airborne (at least as much as the common cold or cough can be transmitted through breathing on someone), wiping out 90% of the population.
Frankly, I would stay calm and face it, because I would know that God has finally called his children home after seeing sin run rampant. I'd walk the city streets among the dead and dying bodies screaming at the top of my lungs, "I'M HERE, LORDDDD!!!! TAKE ME NOW, LORDDDD!!!! THANK YOU, LORDDDD!!!! I LOVE YOU, LORDDDD!!!!". It'd be our epic final crossing.
