Imagine if people started dying by the hundreds of thousands each month in Canada and across the world due to a highly contagious plague. Would you try to run away into the boonies for safety or find a she,ter to stay in? Or would you just stay where you are and continue living the rest of your life accepting that the cleansing of humanity has finally arrived?

I'd put a mask on and wash my hands even more often. We understand how plagues spread, so the fear is way overblown.

We?

You and the dead mouse in your pocket?

The Black Plague is transmitted by fleas on infected rats and contact with dead animals, humans and their bodily fluids.

It is not an airborne disease so your mask won't help you against the black plague.

Some one who started the black Friday thread is going to have offense to this.

I’d likely respond with fever and chills, extreme weakness, diarrhea, vomiting, bleeding mouth, gangrene and death before all my goals are met.

Although I’ve met soooo many of them. Just hope I’m doing something inspiring when I catch it.

On a somewhat related topic, why do Chinese people in the GTA wear masks while driving their cars alone? I mean I can understand wearing a mask out in public, but you are alone in the car, what germs are you worried about?

Do you live with fleas, rats and dead animals? I don't know if you noticed, but we also don't have open sewers running down our streets nor do we dump our refuse everywhere. It's the basic sanitation rules that are keeping mass killers like typhoid fever, cholera, etc. in check.

When the post-apocalyptic world needs repopulating, I'll be there for all the women of child-bearing age.

You won't be able to wear that mask 24/7. Although we understand how plagues in the past have spread, we cannot predict how future ones might. There would be massive hysteria and misinformation going around as well. I'm old enough to remember how society reacted to AIDS in the 1980s... people including medical doctors simply didn't have all the details about it and for that reason many people were legitimately scared about being around people with the disease. It would be that all over again but magnified 1000x if there was an unknown plague killing hundreds of thousands per month across Canada and the USA. Just imagine something horrifying like Ebola but more infectious and potentially airborne (at least as much as the common cold or cough can be transmitted through breathing on someone), wiping out 90% of the population.

Frankly, I would stay calm and face it, because I would know that God has finally called his children home after seeing sin run rampant. I'd walk the city streets among the dead and dying bodies screaming at the top of my lungs, "I'M HERE, LORDDDD!!!! TAKE ME NOW, LORDDDD!!!! THANK YOU, LORDDDD!!!! I LOVE YOU, LORDDDD!!!!". It'd be our epic final crossing.
