It already seems to be having some affect as more and more reviews are being posted with little to no details, just endorsements. Maybe guys are worried that including details could expose them to some form of prosecution? That may seem like the safe play, but unfortunately more and more reviews are reading more like advertizements, and less like traditional reviews. Is this the new face of ERBs?

I'm not sure I can predict what I'll do but for now, I will still visit this board and do as I've done.

One thing for sure, I will be cautious and discreet if I do a review.

This is PARANOIA. A review is not proof enough for any prosecution ..... unless they grab the escort ..... have you in a line-up & have her identify you as the one that she provided service to. REALLY??? You think that is what it will come down to in CANADA. Then you do not know the basis of local police enforcement of laws. Not gunna ever happen that police spend time, money , & hope for co-operation from some s.p. to hunt you down ALL to lay a summary conviction charge sourced from a review. Way too easy for you to say you made the review as a piece of fiction & likely since s.p. saw you days or weeks ago & subsequently seen many other clients ... she could have faulty memory. Almost all escorts right from the get go would say they can't remember you to avoid getting involved in a legal case.
Police don't apply a lot of resources to go after summary conviction crimes ..... TOO MINOR

You don't get it ! What I'm saying, I'm not going to stop what I'm doing, but will stay silent until the dust settles.

How would LE trace a reviewer if this board is outside of Canadian jurisdiction (i.e. .cc)?

HOW would they PROVE .... the reviewer is not writing fake review ( fiction/ an amusing story ) UNLESS they took the time & expense to bring forth the escort as a reliable witness that said she saw you..... & have her as a reliable witness. Again I say police don't go to all this effort for summary conviction crimes. The time & expense starts with court orders , searches , siezurs of info to then attempt to find you.

For starters, I can't believe yet another dumb useless thread has been started about c-36. What toilet paper will you use post c-36? Is your favorite colour going change post c-36? Will you take the same route to get to work once bill c-36 passes? Why type of food will you eat post c-36?

WILL YOUR ACTIVITY CHANGE ON AN INTERNET ESCORT REVIEW FORUM???? SERIOUSLY???

Not to mention this is the second time someone has posted about this exact same question...

Here it is here encase anyone wants to read the other thread going on regarding this exact subject:

We'll be laughing about these threads soon......hopefully! LOL!!

Remember what they said during the Y2K paranoia, stock up on essentials, the world will come to a grinding halt!!

I am actually curious to hear a variety of responses to this.

This whole dance is illegal in the states, yet FLOURISHES there.

So with a little bit of smoke up in the air before elections, guys are seriously avoiding TERB and the girls because they're afraid of a shut down on hundreds of thousands of people participating in the oldest profession?

What they crack down on are solicitors.. street walkers. Those nice ladies who throw themselves in to your car when you're at a red light on Jarvis, then throw themselves in to the road when you refuse to buy their time.

Weed is illegal too, is everyone going to stop smoking it now? (I wish. Since I don't partake... BUT THEY WONT)

Underage drinking..also illegal. Kids still throw their parties.

Not saying to be careless or ignorant... but relax, for goodness sake.

You are absolutely right Valerie, yet for some reason as people get older, they become more paranoid for some reason.
The only conclusion I can come up with, is that as they get older, they lose their freedom of thought. Why is that??

On terb I am only here for the Lounge, but on Merb I will continue as before (I rarely meet new ladies anyway)

The thing is, advertising for someone is now also illegal. I am not sure if writing a review could fall under the purview of advertisement. In that case they don't even have to prove that you actually met her. Just writing a few lines encouraging people to contact that sex worker could be a crime under section 286.4. Still extremely unlikely to be enforced that way, but it would not matter if you are a client, a shill or just a fantasy writer. In any case, your post endorses that worker and encourages people to hire her.

Yes, prostitution is illegal in the United States, but because it is illegal, it is VERY different than in Canada. I lived there for about twelve years. In the United States, I have been routinely ripped off by escorts. It was almost a 50/50 shot whether they would have sex with you. Since it was illegal, they would say that the time was for companionship only. If they did do anything, it was very limited, e.g. a handjob or cbj. Also, the prices were much higher than here in TO. I think I paid $500 once for fs.

Second, Johns in the US get arrested all the time. Just watch the show COPS. There are undercover stings all the time, and one arrest is all it takes to ruin your criminal history, and make you unemployable.

My girlfriend's ex boyfriend was set up. Police set up a fake ad for sex. The guy responded, and was arrested. They charged him, but he went back to his country rather than face the music. As a result, his life is ruined. If he enters the US, he faces immediate arrest. He cannot enter Canada. Even if he did, he can no longer find a good job.

I'm not sure what bill C36 will do here in Ontario, but believe me, the US is TOTALLY different than Canada when it comes to tolerance of people hiring prostitutes.
