So I was in charge of the dinner this year. My first time doing the whole shot.
Turkey was done with a sage/garlic/peppercorn butter rub
Garlic mashed potatoes
Stratch dressing. Used goumet bakery bread. The usual ingredients along with sweet italian stuffing and pears(founs a base recipe and modifie)
Lemon/pepper broccolli and tri-colored carrots(I told the family the purple ones get their colour because they are grown under grape vines....lol).
Garlic/herb pan seared mushrooms then baked in the oven.
Ended with fluffy pumpkin pie, pecan butter tarts, and toffee almond squares.

I was nervous as it was my first turkey dinner.

Now I have to get all my tupperware back because it was all stolen for leftovers!

Turkey that was left is going into a chilli later this week.

All in all a great day of laughter and feasting.

And I think I'm stuck with more hosting duties....crap!

I went to two TG dinners. Saturday night at my friends. We started with finger foods that included various dips including Brie cheese on a cracker coated with fig spread. The mashed red sweet potato and turnip was awesome (red sweet potato is not orange in colour but light).

Sunday was family TG dinner (not everyone available Monday) and included some Italian fare like home-made Lasagna.

I brought dessert on each occasion but I wasn't the only one (no I didn't bake it myself Butler but they came from a boutique, gourmet bakery).

What did you guys have for Thanksgiving Dinner?

I'm stuffed! Gotta do 2 hours on the treadmill tomorrow to burn it off tomorrow :(
Or maybe just find another way of exercising ;)
Roast beef (over cooked) on Sunday and Fish and Chips Monday. The idea of thanksgiving just does not click here :)

Made a roast turkey for dinner with the in-laws on Saturday, had rack of lamb at a friend's place on Sunday, had roast turkey again on Monday with family

Was darn near narcoleptic by Monday night...

Now I just have to avoid eating for about 7 days :)

Your ultimate MILF GFE!
Most years I gorge myself at Thanksgiving. Always have dinner at my mom's (she's an amazing cook). This year, however, I hardly ate anything! Had been down the the flu and hardly eaten anything but soup for the previous 3 days so I guess my stomach must have shrunk! After the scrumptious pumpkin soup, I was practically full! We had roast beef with yorkshire pudding and all the fixings so I had to have some!! Put a tiny bit of each thing on my plate and got through it. It was delicious and wanted more but there was no way. I even had to skip the pumpkin pie!!! :(

Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful... now what about the left overs. I have already made soup and hot turkey sandwiches, yet there is still turkey left over.

Yeah, I've been eating leftovers for two days and made a turkey rice soup and still have turkey left....
