How to fund my hobby.

To a certain extent, I have purchased items on Marketplace and took out more cash than I was buying the item for. It takes time to build up the funds. It took me forever to get the cash to go see Ashlee about a month ago for an hour......but I was bound and determined to see her. And of course worth it.

I was a contractor for 25 years and used to see Ashlee often (before here "retirement") with the extra cash and time I had available......now it is tough to get either.

I do envy those who are able to hobby often........and I guess I used to be one of them.

I can’t actually do plumbing, but I have “plumber’s crack”. Would that work?

I always had a split pay arrangement with my employer. A separate account that I only have access to. It is not that big , but good enough.

I just got a sleeve tattoo done and paid with cash as the guy said it was cool. You could get something with your SO's name and pull out more than what they charge, there was no receipt or paperwork with pricing. Same goes for time it took a few hours

$20 a day for lunch paid in cash (that you don't actually eat but tell the SO) gets you 100 per working week, 400 per month. Just make sure its a place where you know the menu so you can say you had a specific item.
And you'll lose weight too. SO will think you're eating healthy 😆

Hey all. Just inquiring to all of you on how you fund your hobbying. I am looking for ideas. I have a S.O. that i would never be able to get away with a simple withdrawal from the bank

I used to be self employed and I had access to cash on a regular basis. Now, not so much as I have a regular job again.

I have sold stuff on marketplace and been able to get cash that way, but I only have so much to sell. Lol

Are there others in the same boat? Let me know your ideas. I have tried selling my body....but I can't stand the humiliation anymore.

I am looking for serious ideas though.

Let me know. I need to see Ashlee again 😫
Just get a line of credit or a credit card for $2000 and make slow payments back.

If the SO asks any questions, just say it's for transactions. Never let her see it.

I'm super impressed (scared maybe?) at the financial and matrimonial ingenuity of some of you all. Where there's a will there's a way lol!

I will never understand a dude who just turns his paycheque over to his missus, and has no say in where it's spent.
Have to agree. The financial discussion prior to marriage. And if that was the rule...sorry, the relationship won't work.

at 10 cents a pound!
Returning crushed "alcoholic beverage" aluminum cans to the beer store gets you 10 cents a can. A medium 30x38 bag holds approximately 200-300 cans
$20-30 a bag
Crush the cans, leave the actual alcoholic ones uncrushed and mixed in.
If you live in a condo or near one, work out a deal with the super. Easy few hundred a month

Don't bother with the bottles, bulky and while per bottle gives more. It's a pain in the ass to sort and transport.

Lol, they started out as clients. Sometimes i advertised that I needed a skilled trades person and they would reach out to me but too many people were trying to fake it and rip me off. I just went with the people I already knew.

One guy tried to charge me $200 an hour for basic handyman services 🙄 I was more than fair in my trades. Usually an hour or two would get someone a session. I just appreciated the help. People were mostly fair with me too.

Now I'm genuinely interested in how that transaction would go down. Obviously they were clients first and then you found out they were tradespeople? Too many cliched movie ideas going through my mind that start with "Oh my, I can't afford all that!" and "Well, you know, maybe we can find a way to work it out" and then a soft bassline comes rolling in.
