I always thought that was part of the appeal.
"Being able to get away with it" is a big draw to some people. They want that in their lives. So Trump being an obvious fraud but getting away with it means he is a role model to those types.
Next time he's racing down a crowed sidewalk dinging his little bell someone should ask him that?
And not a single person not associated with the coup attempt called him smart, principled, knowledgeable, etc. In fact every single person who worked with him stated he was a flaming moron.

I understand the draw - many Americans living in trailers working their shitty 9-5 jobs for poor wages to come home to a fat drunk wife and half retarded kids. There only joys are sporting events, shooting stuff and getting drunk at the local watering hole while talking about sports and shooting stuff. Along comes Trump, already popular on TV who has a 30 year younger former model wife, flying around in his personal jet, inking billions of dollars in deals and telling the same politicians that the trailer trash believes is the cause of their demise, to go fuck themselves. The tax man and investigators too. Trump.is sticking it to the man and living their dreams.
Then you have the religious nuts who would elect Satan if it meant they would get things thier way

I would not criticize him if he used legal means to reduce or eliminate taxes. That is right and it is more an indictment of the sytsem then him. Very different if he used any means that were illegal like the tricks pulled by the Trump Organization for which it was convicted.
