I was having drinks with a long time friend last week. He told me his wife checked his browser history. Like an idiot, he forgot to use incognito or clear the history and she found what he was recently surfing. If I was concerned about someone snooping through my browser history, I would have more than one browser installed, and I would use one of them just for the kinky searches. I'd also hide the shortcut link to the other browser somewhere where I could find it easily, but someone else wouldn't think to look, with an innocent name for the link, and a different icon.

Snooping through someone else' browser history, e-mails or text messages is really greasy behavior, even for a wife or the parent of a minor child. Parents who have concerns about where their children are going on the Internet should look at the computer while the child is present. Doing that while the kid isn't home teaches the wrong message, especially if the parent has a few skeletons in their own Internet closet.
