I just read this, kids are a big financial burden... not sure of your financial situation but that should always be a key factor in deciding on children..

I'm as close to 40 as you can get, 3 years ago I quit a dead end job and went on about a 2.5 year pooning tour consisting of sp's, sc's and mp's. Been to Amsterdam, Vegas, Thailand, Montreal, and Toronto, I worked enough to pay for the trips, I wanted to enduldge in the activites I didn't do much of when I was younger.

I've had sex with many women of all races but I realized I could have sex with many more and still wouldn't feel happy, I also could care less if I ever set foot in an sc again.

I'm at a crossroads because I'd like to move on and look for a mate, but I realized most are taken as well wonder if I could be faithful, however now that I've got it out of my system, I think I could. By the time I meet someone, if it works out and by the time a kid is born I'd be almost 42. I think I fucked up, any thoughts.

Any of the married guys want to chime in about marriage in general, any regrets about it, would you rather have stayed single? I'm sure not every married guy on here is miserable, any positive stories. I saw a girl a few days ago I've liked for a while and didn't see a ring on her finger, but when I thought about asking her out, my freedom felt threatened.

By no means think that ALL marriages are failures today. There are people who have very good and strong marriages. You have to make the decision on your own of what you wish to do with your life. I do recall when in hospital giving birth to one of my sons this old woman and old man in the bed beside me who put off having kids into their 60's that just had a child with help of todays technologies. When talking to them they said they were too busy enjoying life and kept putting it off and that now they just wanted to have one child before they passed on. I wonder at their ages how active they can be with said child. Alright it is possible that they are still around when the child is 80. Maybe they just want an heir??? Who really knows, but there has to be more health risks the older you get. Especially since they left it so long they needed help. Maybe they wanted to see that their relationship would last that long. None the less a marriage is a risk where you will never know if it will stand the test of time. In the end divorced or not if you have children be there for them.

Ask yourself would you rather take the risk or not have kids at all in your life time. What would you regret more not having kids or having them and ending up divorced?

I'm in my mid 30's and when I'm not doing this SP thing (which isn't very much since I've only done it a few times), the girls I date are in the late teens
is 16 considered late teens?

According to this article it cost $180K to raise a child to the age of 18:
http://largerfamilies.blogspot.com/2006/10/how-much-does-it-really-cost-to-raise.html

That's from 3 years ago and it's in US dollars. So factor in inflation since 2006 and US-to-CAD conversion rate and it's probably closer to $220K

$220K is a lot of SP's
That's the problem, I've gotten bored with the pay for play stuff, so I don't know what other options there are. I've seen so many escorts the last couple years that I can't remember having sex without a time limit, on the other hand I've also gotten so used to variety that i don't know if i could be faithful.

I have a related question so I might as well ask it on this thread.

How old is too old to breastfeed? Is a 7 year old kid  too old to still be breastfed?

With a sense of humor like that, I have every confidence that you can attract someone to bear your children :D
