It’s stupid. It’s in fact the exact opposite of doing a good job keeping things contained. It’s reckless and negligent. What’s the point of the Trenton quarantine when hundreds of people a day are strolling through the airport gates?
I see that Canada only just started “Suspending” flights to/from China on the 29th of Jan? Pretty late in the game don’t you think? With the incubation period being 2 weeks apparently And if you’re actually tracking how viciously this thing is spreading it boggles my mind how anyone thinks the risk here to Canada right now is none existent. You rather wait until bodies start dropping off right left and center.
And is this just Canada’s stupid, careless, nonchalant attitude towards something like this or is it a different reason?
Right now there are only a tiny handful of cases in Ontario and they are all quarantined in hospital so I can't see any reason to take any special precautions at this time. If there are more infections I'll revisit the issue but for now I'm just carrying on with my life as normal.
Sunnybrook here in Toronto and University Hospital in London. Although looking at the latest news it appears that the patient at Sunnybrook has now recovered and been discharged.
Im not a racist but honestly speaking, China and some other Asian countries have got to be the filthiest places on earth.

They don’t give any information about the current status of the confirmed cases, though if you dig a little online you can find out a few things.
Man in Toronto was released. The 2nd was his wife who I believe was quarantined at home? Not sure.
The 3rd was a young woman from Wuhan who was returning to London for school. Apparently she had a very mild case, and was almost missed by the screeners, which is why they now send all tests to Winnipeg for confirmation. She wore a mask on her flight and is not considered to have been a risk to infect anyone due to her low viral load. Of course they won’t say what flight she was on.
Undoubtedly there are going to be more cases in Canada. I read one article that said the incubation period is more like 24 days than 14.
I expect more than a few will test positive in Trenton eventually. It’s good to see low numbers and recoveries though, and I hope that things stay that way.

Yes but its not here and your fear mongering just breeds contempt for people who don't deserve it.
This virus is extremely contagious. The government is being negligent and reckless by not stopping air travel from China and other affected areas.
The Philippines shut down travel to China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau almost right away. Is the government of Canada less competent than the Philippines?
What do you think is going to happen when the people that are infected and have slipped through all the “precautions” infect others? It will explode just like it has in China. You think our health care system can handle an outbreak on that scale? Don’t be so naive.
How many people know someone who just arrived from China and have not been quarantined. I have talked with quite a few people who know individuals who landed in Canada and are now in Trenton under 14 days quarantine. Although I have heard that the time period should be 21 days not 14.
