I have exactly 2132 store-bought CD's.

I last counted at around 1800 and then just kept adding to the total as I bought more. I got tired of counting.

I also have 250-300 burned CD's but I don't count them as "official".

I'm currently sitting at roughly 10,000 and still going strong. Of course it helps that I've spent that last 10 + years in the music industry. I get a lot of promos, but I do still buy a lot as well. I'm heading to Toronto tomorrow on business so I'm sure I'll be buying some more while I am in town. (I also have about 500 LPs and about 500 dvds.) I need to get rid of some of this stuff. Maybe I'll sell it on terb!

I have a very large collection. CDs at last inventory was 5251 (all origianal no burnt CDs). Bootleg concert CDs at last count was 229. Records (yup, I still have em) 4219. I have had to write a database to keep track of all of them. My wife often says I remind of the guy from the movie High Fidelity.

I guess somewhere over 2000+ all original, I had more but someone broke into my house a long while back and they stole my booze, some VHS movies and lots of CDs.

If you are looking for a database for your CD, LPs etc, check out www.collectorz.com. It's only $40 (US). It will fill in all of your tracklistings for you. You can generate any kind of report that you want as well. You can even keep track of who you loaned CDs to. You can export to html so you can put the info on your website. Wow! I just realized that I sound like a shill for this company. I just know that it works really really well. (They also have comic, movie, book, game and mp3 databases available.) Cheers.

Wow! You guys freak me out! About 10 years ago I thought I had a lot of CDs when I counted a little over 250. I sold most of them at a garage sale I had before moving back to GTA from Ottawa. Regretted it ever since. Had some real classics. Currently I have around 30 or 40. More of an ipod guy now though so... not planning on getting any more.
