... does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

1. One to deny that the light bulb needs to be changed

2. One to attack the patriotism of anyone who says the light bulb needs to be changed.

3. One to blame Clinton for burning out the light bulb.

4. One to tell the nations of the world that they are either for changing the light bulb or for darkness.

5. One to give a billion dollar no-bid/cost-plus contract to Halliburton for the new light bulb.

6. One to arrange a photograph of Bush, dressed as a janitor, standing on a stepladder under the banner: "Light Bulb Change Accomplished."

7. One administration insider to resign and write a book documenting in detail how Bush was literally in the dark.

8. One to viciously smear #7.

9. One surrogate to campaign on TV and at rallies on how George Bush has had a strong light bulb changing policy all along.

10. Finally, Joe Lieberman to confuse Americans about the difference between screwing the light bulb and screwing the country.

Feel free to add your own.

Very old joke, but I always liked this one. How many Kennedys does it take to screw in a light bulb? One to hold the bulb, and two to drink until the room starts spinning.

No, no, bottom-boy, you said that you had no problem with mercenaries and I said that we have no need for them.

You would like to pay someone else to fight our battles. Of course, your logic does not take into account that these guys cost 4X what American soldiers cost, nor do you care if they kill people without provocation. And then you complain about taxes and you say we should have the "rule of law."

Just more hypocrisy and inconsistency from a guy whose motto is: "I've got mine, so f**k everybody else."

Paid mercenaries are as old as warfare itself.
I think they are needed and a valid addition to any army. If 4 times the cost vs a regular soldier just saves one regular soldier, then I am ok with that.

They can do things a little more effective and efficent then regular troops could do.;)

You mean like being able to shoot up whoever they please in the knowledge that they are completely immune from prosecution under Iraq law?

And WHAT pray tell, have these very highly paid mercenaries done that is so much more 'effective and efficent' then regular troops, besides act like a bunch of Texas cowboys with itchy trigger fingers, ....oh and make a whole bunch of blood money for themselves and their Texan CEO, all paid for by the US TAXPAYERS?...

These 'cowboys' sure as hell ain't winning over any 'hearts & minds' over in Iraq.

lange you and your clone bot, indeed have a warped value system......

Yup exactly...I hate to burst your bubble but war is dirty business especially a guerilla war like this.
If your enemy plays dirty you got to play dirty as well....maybe you and I don't like it....but that is the truth.

WAKE UP.......if you chose to ignore the progress that has been made..that is your perogative....
If you get your head out of the clouds "MR EX Vet" maybe you be honest with yourself for a minute and come down from your high horse of rightenous and admit that if your enemies break the rules...you got to break them as well...this is not the ACLU..this is war.
If in Vietnam we would have stop fighting with one hand tied behind our backs...like we try to do now...then the result would have been different.

Stop pretending it makes me sick...

Dirty business indeed. Here's a little more background for you, and what the US soldiers arriving on the scene of the most recent episode involving Blackwater had to say.

http://www.csmonitor.com/2007/1012/p99s01-duts.html

Perhaps you can explain to me how the fleeing civilians were "playing dirty", and why it is justified to hire corporate mercenaries who are effectively above the law, to do our dirty work for us? So much for winning hearts and minds.

WHAT PROGRESS?!??!?
Retired Gen Sanchez savaged Iraq policy on TV today saying Iraq is a total mess. Former US Commander Gen Sanchez Calls Iraq a "Nightmare."
He can be more truthfull since he's retired.

Looks like You are the one who needs to WAKE UP lange!!!

Nam & Iraq were/are both Civil Wars the US had no business getting into.
BTW, don't forget BOTH of these Wars were started by the GOP!
Nam was an ongoing Civil War the US enjoined, while Iraq is a Civil War Dubya/Cheney/Rummy & Team 'w' CREATED!
Really lange, get a decent history textbook and read it. You have to stop getting all your talking points from Faux news and El Rushbloe.......;)
