We shop at Maverick Distillers front of the distillery outlet in Winston Park in Oakville about twice a year.
They are a 5 minute drive from my house.
And did not stop operating when LCBO went on strike a while back.

Nice hard liquor and hard ciders and seltzers.
Not a huge selection, but wide enough.
Good prices.

Buy more than about $100 at once and they often toss in $12-$20 -I.e. 1 or 2 worth sampler 500mL sizes for free to try to widen your palette.

They make a very tasty double espresso vodka that is fun to toss in the weekend coffee. Or make into whipped desert toppings.

I have been loyal to cut water ever since it started to become popular one can is enough for me to get tipsy 😵💫

it’s probably the best bang for my buck when I go out to drink $5 to get drunk is a good deal to me
Do they get you more drunk than a Soju? I’ve heard of Cut Water before, but i didn’t realize that they were that strong (and cheap) until checking the price on the lcbo site

I would say Soju would definitely gets you more drunk as it’s at 20% meanwhile Cut Water ranges from 8.5%-12.5%

Give cut water a try my favourite is the Lemon Drop 😊

Never liked the taste of bourbon or rye, prefer a single malt or Johnny Walker "mixer" blend.
This is me as well. Until I was 30, I had dismissed whisky as a drink that tastes like turpentine and had no use for it -- all I ever had to that point were rye and bourbon. I stuck to purely beer and the occasional glass of red wine with dinner.

Then I discovered single-malts and blended scotch and my opinion changed.

I don't drink hard liquor. There are good wines in Quebec and in Ontario, and really good liquors as well.. It's not hard to buy local, whether it's alcohol, food or anything else. We are lucky in our provinces with the quality of the products we have.. I've even been starting to mostly buy clothes from local designers.
