how long do you keep eggs after the expire date?

I do . They still taste pretty good. Best Before Dates are just that . It doesn't necessarily mean that the food has gone bad after that date has come and gone.
Internet says they are still ok 3 to 5 weeks after the expiration date.

That said, I have used eggs way beyond that time period and I am still alive.

I have used the below site for years.
Almost anything bought,or cooked at home,for consumption can be found with info on length of freshness after bb date,or leftovers,and how long they will last in the fridge,or freezer.

The key to making eggs last well beyond their BBD is to make sure they remain refrigerated at all times. If you set them on the counter before using them then leave them out allowing them warm up before returning them to the fridge, it considerably shortens their lifespan.
As others have mentioned, thefloat test is pretty reliable and the BBD is typically several weeks past the date stamped on the carton.
We only eat duck eggs which we get from a local farmer. Way better than chicken eggs.

Chicken eggs from local farms are much better than store bought eggs too.
My mother used to visit from the country and she would always bring a dozen fresh eggs from the local farmer.
Miles of difference in taste compared to the store bought, bleached and processed stuff.
So you would rather be wasteful than eat something that is still perfectly fine but doesn't taste 'perfect' in your opinion?
I had a bunch of eggs that were 9+ months old. I thought, how bad could they be? (Famous Last Words...)
Cracked 'em open and the eggs (a dull orange colour) poured out of the shells like gelatinous ooze. Had a funky odor too. But hey, what the hell...
Made scrambled eggs but the smell kept getting worse so I ended up pitching them without even tasting. The smell was repugnant enough that I knew they were bad (really bad).
So yeah, at some point they do become inedible.

It's a best before date, not bad after. Food doesn't suddenly turn the next day.
That's stretching it a bit. :Eek:

I'm positive he wouldn't be able to tell the difference between an egg that was one day before the BBD and one that was one day after the BBD.
Or a piece of meat.
Only if you stupidly buy stuff you are unlikely to use before its sell date. If you can't eat twelve eggs a week next time buy six.
In any case I can afford to throw out a carton of eggs and I'm guessing so can everybody who is on terb. If this were a forum for maximizing your welfare benefits this might be a more interesting topic, but this is a forum oriented around a particularly expensive hobby.
