Heather, Amber, and Nikki Klass are high up on my TDL when I will be in Toronto. One question i have is how long, time wise of a drive from the Downtown Toronto area, it takes to get the areas where each of these SP's works. That will let me know whether I will be able to take one or more trips to the area.

Also how easy is the parking in those area. Hard to find and mostly parking garages, or nice free parking spots nearby?

I can't speak for parking, but from Downtown Toronto, when it's not rush hour, can take as long as 30 to 45 minutes depending on how fast you can drive to the Whitby area, depending on where they are at the time, but worth the drive.

Lots of easy, free parking. 30-40 minute drive from downtown about right. For Heather, Nikki and Amber............. make sure you make the trip. WELL worth it.

Google Maps: Yonge and Bay, Toronto to Pickering Angels Spa, Pickering, 41.6km 31min. With a route map and directions. You thought you could do better on TERB?

I have a GPS and have google maps, but that still doesn't give me an idea of how bad the traffic can be, nor does it help me know about parking. Personal experience is often more accurate than a simple calculation. The last time I was in Toronto my GPS estimated the time from Oakville to Downtown Toronto at about 30 minutes. The drive took about an hour and a 20 minutes.

Frank, if you leave downtown after 7pm, or in between let's say 10am and 2pm, it's your best bet to avoid traffic. Don Valley Parkway can be a bit tricky sometimes on rush hour though, so alot of times I just take Kingston Rd all the way to Pickering.

I can get downtown toronto in 30 min. As long as it's not rush hour, before 3 is good! Park right in my driveway. I also know there is parking at Ambers and I believe Nikki is at a hotel, there is plenty of parking for her also!

That sort of explains why you're asking, but your best answers will always come from asking the best question you can. You have yet to actually say where you want to get to, where you'd be coming from and when you'd want to try. Leaving us to guess about what road and traffic conditions you might encounter, at what times, going wherever in the GTA, isn't likely to be any more precise than Google, is it?

My rule of thumb is that free parking is always a gift; always expect to pay a few bucks. Likewise in Canada's largest city, the roads will always be crowded, whether out in 'cars are your only option' land or in 'walking's faster' territory. Double Google's ideal-conditions times (triple and more in SlowToStop Hour) and don't sweat arriving a tad early. Pick a cheaper destination if you can't afford to pay for a space as close as you'd wish. The deeper downtown you foolishly take a car, the more you can expect to pay for leaving it uselessly parked. Park sooner and cheaper, let a pro finish the driving while you relax.

To be safe, I would budget 1 hr each way, more if you plan on travelling during rush hour. If you're taking the DVP, you will inevitably run into traffic around Eglinton, or merging onto the DVP from the 401.

My hotel will be on Carlton and Yonge, and the location I am going to will be going to are the locations of the three women listed in the original post to this thread. As for when I am leaving it can be any day from Tuesday through Friday, and time isn't important, as long as it's not after 8:00 PM.

Thanks, for the reply Heather. I was planning on visiting in the early afternoon if possible, so it sounds like the perfect time frame.

I agree, it seems like a waste of time to drive away from downtown when there are so many great options available.
To each there own, I had a gentleman drive from Buffalo and back this week, and many come much farther than Toronto to see the Girls in durham!!! Durham has quite a few wonderful Ladies!!!! xoxoxo

So how long was the drive... Each way?
I believe this was Mr. Drive from Buffalo of post #14, revealing himself as regaey. The Linear Mode display can make replies to one particular post a tad hard to connect up.

Going from Toronto to Durham region, the three major blockage points on the 401 at rush hour are Kennedy road (Scarborough), Whites Road (Pickering) and Salem Road (Ajax). Port Union and Brock Road (both in Pickering) are also common blockage points with Stevenson Road (Oshawa) being the last probable trouble spot. My measure of rush hour starts at 2pm with 7pm being the tail end with 3:30pm to 5:30pm having the worst potential for stop and go traffic. If you go north and are willing pay the tolls, the 407 is a good alternative. With the summer coming on, traffic won't be quite as bad during the week but thursdays and fridays will still be heavy traffic due to the cottage country crowd.

Rush hour will double your driving time typically, and on occasion triple or quadruple it.
