How does textnow work?

I have my own number but may need an alias for something, do I use the app when I want the alias number to show up? I want to use my main number for receiving a call and textnow for another?

Anyone have step by step instructions, not good with tech stuff?

If you install an app it will be traceable to you
If you are really trying to keep it anon use something else

Textnow has a calling forwarding feature so you can give your TextNow number and have it forwarded to any phone you want to answer it from.

You can use TextNow to receive/play a call directly as well but I believe their are fees per minute.

You use the app for texting for free.

When using the app, the app number shows. When using your normal cell phone, your main number shows. You have to be in the app to be using the app except for when the call forwarding feature is on.

I use textme. It if free for calling and texting. You can call or text anyone in North America. You can get a phone number from any province. I use it all the time when overseas. I can call or text anyone using wifi. The phone number you get shows up with the area code you choose. I have tried others but this has been the best for me. I have been using it for over a year and have not spent a dime.
