Just say hello and smile, works more often than you think. If she smiles back and says hello, initiate conversation. If not move on. Personally I would prefer there were no females in the gym at all its just to distracting and recks my concentration. The only time I like to see hot girls at the gym is when i do cardio and there infront of me.

P.S. If that fails join those step classes there are tons of girls and gay men there.
